Synopsis
About a kid who's goal is to find his father and discover why he left him. The main focus of this anime is about a profession in this world called a Hunter. A hunter is a prestigious title that you have to pass the hardest exam in the world to become, and it allows you to gain jobs that are highly skilled and specialsed, for example being one that specialses in finding ancient ruins, hunting rare and mysterious creatures, crime hunters, botanical hunters, hacker hunters, music hunters, terrorist hunters, gourmet hunters, beast hunters, treasure hunters - there is a wide variety.
Plot/Story 9.1/10
The first arc is the Hunter Exam arc, in my opinion the first half dozen or so episodes are the weakest in the series as they are really just getting into the feel of the anime, but it is well worth sticking through those episodes to get to the really good ones that start around episode 10. Once the main characters start to meet and interact with more and more side characters, that's where it really immerses you in the story. Can get a little long in an arc such as the Chimera ant arc, where 2 minutes has passed in the space of 8 episodes, but I think that that's completely necessary to really show the viewer all of the characters perspectives and missions that are happening simultaneously. The final arc is kind of weak but I think that's ok because it's only 12 episodes long, but it does however give a nice conclusion to the anime, while also opening up an entire new part of the world that will hopefully be explored in future episodes (._.)
Animation/Design 10/10
Literally amazing, some of the fight scenes are just so well done, the animators use all of the tools available to them to really make it as immersive as possible, a good example of this is the anime's use of lighting.
Characters 10/10
Great characters that are loveable. The design for each character is completely unique for each one and very creative. There is great character development from start to finish and you really get to see how each character has grown with both strength and also as a person. Can be very devastating when a character you have taken a liking to is killed, but this just motivates the MCs even more and serves as great character development material ;)
Audio/Soundtrack 10/10
The soundtracks for this anime are honestly the best in any I've seen. There is no problems with either wrongly placed music or bad music; just nothing wrong. The intro song is also a bop.
