HxH is a show that follows the story of an 11-year-old child named Gon Freecss on his journey to find his father Ging. On his journey, he finds friends that help him accomplish his dream including Killua the child of infamous assassins the Zoldycks. Kurapika, a smart teen from the massacred kurta clan, and Leorio an idiot who aspires to become a doctor. This group of friends meets many different hardships along the way.
Characters 10/10

Gon Freecs: Gon is the Child of a pro hunter named Ging. At the beginning of the story, he aspires to become a hunter to understand why Ging left him alone with his aunt Mito as a child. Gon is a great character for two main reasons The first is his story. The concept of finding his dad never ends till the last few episodes of the show and there are many moments such as the end of arc 5 that leave you hanging on whether or not gon will accomplish his goal. Gon is also part of Great fights all throughout the show that keeps you interested in him as a main character. Gons personality at times is his only downside IMO. Gon is not smart, he's is at times irrational and Impulsive, but his personality is also adorable so it doesn't make me hate him.

Killua Zoldyck: Killua is the child of a family of elite assassins, Killua is smart, Kind, quirky, and most importantly an amazing friend to Gon. Killua has no goal throughout most of the story. His goal is based is finding his purpose throughout his adventures with Gon. By the end of the show, Killua finds his purpose in protecting his sister Alluka in an adorable heartwarming interaction. Killua delivers some of the best lines and action sequences throughout the show, most noteworthy moments include his fight with Youpi in arc 6 and his overcoming of his family who wishes to control him. Killua's personality is also great, he is intelligent and always finds ways to get out of sticky situations. Lastly just like gon he is adorable.

Kurapika: Kurapika is the last survivor of the massacred Kurta clan, who were killed in genocide for their scarlet eyes that were seen as a commodity for money. Kurapikas's Story follows that of two goals: avenging his clan by killing the phantom troupe and retrieving the eys of his massacred people. Kurapika's action is limited but shines in certain intense moments that really make you feel for the character. Kurapika's personality is basically that of a more introverted Killua in that he is smart and kind, however, he is also vindictive and vengeful.

Leorio: Leorio is a 19-year-old who aspires to become a doctor after being unable to save his childhood friend. Leorio's story is never completed (for now anyway). Leorio has no fight scenes throughout the show but he is pretty funny when he does engage in other forms of conflict. Leorio is perverted and obsessed with money and pretty funny on a first watch.

Hisoka: Hisoka is a magician who seeks to fight the strongest opponents. He has no story arc, but his goals are clear, to fight opponents worthy of him. Hisoka makes up more amazing fights than any other character IMO. This is due to the clever usage of his ability bungee gum, which possesses the properties of both rubber and gum. Hisoka's personality is amazing. he is funny and creepy witch adds to the humor.
Story 9.4/10
Arc 1 (Hunter Exam) 9.5/10
The Hunter Exam story arc is amazing upon the first watch. The show makes it clear from the beginning that it is an uphill battle for our main characters to pass the Hunter exam. This arc mostly builds up the story for the future and does not contain all that much amazing action besides a few cool Hisoka and Killua moments. The Hunter Exam arc always stays interesting as the pacing is very good, and so much stuff is built up (such as Hisoka vs gon, the phantom troop, and Killuas family) that makes you excited to watch the next arcs.
Arc 2 (Zoldyck) 9.5/10
The Zoldyck arc is basically a short little arc to give backstory to Killua. This arc explains why Killua is the way he is and introduces us to his strict family. Including his Father Silva, his Grandfather Zeno, and his brothers Milluki and Kalluto. This arc is good simply because it's never boring, Killua is such a compelling character, and understanding his background and family is interesting. Seeing Gon's appreciation and determination to see Killua is also great to see.
Arc 3 (Heavens Arena) 10/10
The Heavens Arena Arc is one of my favorite arcs of the show. This arc develops the friendship of Killua and Gon through learning the world's power system of nen (which IMO is the best power system out of all the animes I have seen) This arc is all about fighting as the child prodigies learn nen in a few months. The Fights in this arc are what make it shine. Gon vs Gido, Killua vs Rehilvelt, Hisoka vs Castro, and Hisoka vs Gon are all some of the best fights of the show. There are also Intense moments that are jaw-dropping such as The reveal that Hisoka is a member of the phantom troupe, and Killuas's assassin outburst towards one of the three main villains of the arc. The arc then ends with a wholesome trip to Whale Island where Gon is from, where Killua and Gon continue to bond adorably.
Arc 4 (Yorknew City) 10/10
This for me is the best arc. This arc is different from all the others as it follows Kurapika more than Gon and Killua, This arc is beautiful storytelling at its finest. From the get-go, we are introduced to a new and Improved Kurapika, and all the phantom troupe members. This arc focuses on revenge and how it breaks people. (the fact of the matter is is that I can't explain the story of this arc without writing a 1000 word essay so ill just send a video.) Overall Kurapikas's story is simply breathtaking at moments, particularly his fight with Uvogin. We also see the group reunite after their separation after the Zoldyck arc. Overall the story, action, and new characters of this arc are simply amazing.

Arc 5 (Greed Island) 9/10
People dislike this arc due to the training episodes that people find boring. Personally, I don't mind training episodes in anime so it does not bother me all that much. The fights, were some of the best action of the show, as we got to see Killua and Gon team with Hisoka who is usually an antagonist, during an intense dodgeball match where the protagonists all displayed their full power to win. The main villain Genthreu kinda sucked, but he took a fat L at the end of the arc so it was satisfying to see his garbage ass go down.
Arc 6 (Chimera Ant) 8/10
This Imo was the worst arc, due to many factors. Let's start with the Good. We are introduced to new compelling characters like Knuckle and Morel as well as funny characters like Palm and Cheetu. Also, This is by far the best arc for action as we see insane fights with Killua, Gon and Netero, against a variety of cool compelling villains. Lastly The character development as great as we got to see Killua overcome His family's manipulation, and the Climax of Gons story. Now for the bad... This arc is paced very slowly, at times it is painful to watch as 10 minutes of chronological time for the characters is about 40 minutes worth of content you have to watch. lastly, for the Ugly, we are introduced to a few abominable characters Including Ikalgo and Shiyapouf. These characters are annoying as shit and make me want to poke my eyes out.
Arc 7 (Chairman Election) 10/10
This was a great arc, and reset the pacing of the show back to normal. This Arc Marks the end of Killua's confusion on what to do with his life, as he discovers through saving his friend Gon, his purpose: protecting and freeing his sister Alluka. This whole arc is emotional as Alluka is treated as an object, rather than a person by the rest of the Zoldycks. All of Killua's character development bubbles up to this season where Killua comes out as clearly the kindest, and most moral character of the show despite his harsh dark upbringing. Killua finding his goal in life is simply heartwarming to see as he deserves it after all he has been through with Gon. The arc also gives us more content regarding two of the best villains of the show Hisoka and Illumi as they tag team to prevent Killua from reaching Gon. The election between all the zodiacs is also cool but what makes this arc so good is clearly Killua, Hisoka and Illumi and how their goals intersect.
Action 9/10
The action was good however there is at times a severe lack of it as the writing concentrates on the story.
Art 10/10
This shows art style is simply beautiful as the characters are so uniquely designed. HxH is also from what I see one of only few anime that characters actually seem Multicultural, rather than just looking so. Outfits look amazing and, and match the character's personality. Overall the art style is definitely a strong point for the show.
