## when I first started this anime I really related to Shima Rin as a fellow introvert wanting to do things by myself and I feel like I recharge whenever I do things alone but over time I feel that I have become more reliant on my friends and it's kind of nice to see that reflected in Rin's journey. Like, she still does her own thing a lot, but you can see her opening up bit by bit, and it doesn’t feel forced or rushed. It's just natural, you know? Like, sometimes I catch myself thinking, “yeah, I could totally text someone and ask them to hang out” instead of just curling up alone all the time. also thank you so much @perocean for the Christmas gift of the Shima-Rin figure its the first anime figure I have ever gotten and its probably not going to be the last as I am definitely going to try and collect as much laid back camp merch as possible!!! the themes of introversion in Yuru Camp hit so close to home, especially how Rin isn’t "fixed" or anything. Like, she still enjoys her solo camping trips and needs her space, but at the same time, you can see her world expanding as she connects with Nadeshiko and the others. It’s not about changing who you are, but more like growing in a way that feels right. It’s really comforting seeing that balance because sometimes I feel like being an introvert is treated like something that needs to be fixed in media, but this anime gets it so right. Also, the scenes where they just sit by the campfire, make some ramen, or admire the views??? It’s like the ultimate relaxation therapy in anime form. I never knew watching people cook sausages on a portable stove could be so satisfying lol. Every episode feels like it’s wrapping you in a warm blanket and giving you a big hug. I can’t wait to go camping myself and live my own version of it, though probably with way worse cooking and none of the cool camping gear Rin has.
##I feel that unlike many other anime Laid Back Camp is really difficult to binge where you can only watch around 3 episodes at a time as they are just so so content rich its like eating a big bowl of ice cream, you cant eat too much without feeling like you are going to get a sweetness overload but as a nice night cap to the day it is perfect.
##the amount of times I have fallen asleep after a long day of stress and ending it all with a nice pot of tea wrapped in a warm blanket watching Yuru Camp is uncountable and i think that everyone on earth should give it a watch as it is soul healing sweetness that is just magical.
##while the main focus of the Anime is the Camping a lot of the pull of the anime is the joy of the building of the characters relationships throughout the show the little stories that build around the characters gradually are the majority of the fun that the anime has when you are watching it, the relationship between Shima-Rin and her grandfather is one of the best family dynamics in all of anime that I have watched as you can really feel the love they have for each other and although that the grandfather (his his granddaughter) is very careful with words and short spoken he still really loved shima rin getting her gifts when he sees that she has interest in Biking like him and this anime you can really see the whole "like father like son" theme as all of the families that are shown are just so supportive of each other in all their adventures. another relationship that i love in Laid Back Camp is the one between Shima Rin and Nadeshiko as they are polar opposites in the way they take camping and life in general, Shima Rin is a lot more relaxed and laid back as a person preferring solo camping and going on rides on her moped compared to Nadeshiko's randomness and bounciness being a very extroverted person but even though they are so different they still manage to be best friends and through that Shima Rin steps outside of her comfort zone and starts camping with the others in the outdoors club and even in season 2 Nadeshiko starts to take some qualities from Shima Rin and starts exploring with her first solo camp to see what Shima Rin loves so much.
##Also, the whole camping aesthetic in this show is insanely fun. It’s not just about the camping gear or the places they go (though I swear I’m Googling those spots like crazy now), it’s the way they show the little things. Like making a cup of ramen in the cold, or just sitting around a campfire. It’s so simple but also just magical. I never thought I'd want to spend my money on a fancy sleeping bag or learn how to set up a tent properly, but here I am considering it because of this anime lol.##Oh, and the music?? Omg, it’s so calming and perfect for the vibe. Like, sometimes I’ll put the soundtrack on while I’m studying or just laying around because it has that cozy, "everything is fine" feeling. Even when nothing big is happening in an episode, it’s still like… you feel happy watching it. I think it’s cool how Yuru Camp makes you feel like you’re part of their little group of misfits, even if you’re not really there. It’s just good vibes all around, 10/10 would rewatch forever.
