Horimiya's artstyle is alright, but it boasts very good animation at times during the show. Some parts are especially well animated, and as a slice of life anime, there are very few issues with the animation.
___
[Pacing] - 6.5/10
From the first half (approximately) of the show, the pacing is relatively good, for a progressing slice of life story, but this derails the following half with a seemingly abrupt pace for it's final few episodes, finishing in a very short duration. Horimiya would have been allowed much more as a show if it had been given 24 episodes. I also hear that it is rushed compared to the manga, but I have yet to confirm such.
____
[Story and Premise] - 8/10
The premise is very simply, yet effective. The two main characters in horimiya don't even seem like good matches at first, but it can be seen that they are. The story progresses a lot as Hori recognizes Miyamura as a normal person, and this simple premise is effective.
____
[Comedy and Emotion] - 8.5/10
A lot of comedy in Horimiya is very effective. Many times has it made me giggle or laugh. There are also many emotional points during Horimiya, usually that have to do with Miyamura, or his backstory. His flashbacks are very good and there are even strong metaphors used around them.
____
[Entertainment and Hooking Aspect] - 8/10
Overall, Horimiya is very entertaining and can keep you interested along the whole watch, even as a slice of life.
____
[Characters] - 8.5/10
The main characters in Horimiya are very in depth, especially Miyamura. While side characters have smaller stories that are often too short or rushed, they are still very in depth and in their perspective, which is quite enjoyable. Characters often carry slice of life stories like these.
