Hunter x Hunter (2011) is a beloved anime and I did really enjoy it. Unfortunately, I decided to stop watching it after season 3 because I found out that Kurapika wasn't going to appear a lot in the next seasons. I like Gon and Killua, they're very endearing and interesting, but Gon's main storyline (i.e. looking for his father who abandoned him as an infant) is unappealing to say the least. Personally, I don't care about Gon's deadbeat dad and I can't fathom why Gon is obsessed with him while refusing to find out anything about his mother. Gon is like twelve though so I don't blame him. However, I do think that Kurapika's story is more interesting and I was so enthralled by his arc in season 3. I honestly can't bring myself to care about the rest of the story, I'm sorry. It's unfortunate that I didn't like the main character's plotline but I still had a great time and I get why people love HxH so much.
Animation: It's really really good and dynamic and the fight scenes are great (my fave one being Kurapika vs Uvoguine lol). I loved how they animated each character's Nen and honestly, you don't even notice that HxH was made back in the early 2010s. It's all very smooth and high-quality to me, as a viewer.
Art style: Very cute and distinct character design!! I especially loved Canary she looks so cute <3 The style works and it looks good. I did hate how great Hisoka's outfits were because he's such a fucking creep lol.
Plot: The Hunter Exam arc is so fun and a tournament/competition is always a great way to start a shonen and introduce all the characters. The Zoldyck Family arc is darker but it's still pretty lighthearted and it has great moments. Heavens Arena arc is also good and you finally learn about what Nen is. I think I should have taken notes during that arc because the magic system can be quite confusing lol. Yorknew City arc is my favourite, I absolutely loved the Phantom troupe and Kurapika going off. All the scenes where Gon, Killua, and Leorio were trying to earn money to buy Greed Island were kind of boring to me (because again, I don't care about Gon's dad). However, the rest of the arc was so good that I could just ignore that part of the story. It has some incredible scenes, like Chrollo looking down on the city while the rest of the Phantom Troupe commit mass murder (the music was chef kiss). I can't comment anything on the rest of the anime since I haven't seen it lol.
Characters: Gon is adorable, he's my baby and everybody loves him (as they should). Killua is also very cute and interesting, even though he doesn't really have a goal and just wants to be besties with Gon. Kurapika is one of my favourite characters ever, his story is so sad and his personality is very ambivalent. He's very calm (except when he wants to commit murder) and rational, and he tends to be distant with his friends. But we also learn that he values his friends more than his revenge, which makes his arc more interesting in my opinion. I don't care about Leorio and he doesn't have a huge role in the story in any of the arcs. I really disliked the scene during the Hunter exam where he checks if one of the prisoners is a woman or not. It was just gross lol. As for the side characters, I especially loved Wing and Canary and Machi!!! They all have cool powers or backstories.
Soundtrack: The music is so great!! The opening is very iconic and it always puts me in a good mood. The music choice in this anime goes perfectly with the story and it really enhances every scene. The Phantom Troupe's theme especially!!
Overall, HxH is great and I loved the three seasons I watched. If Kurapika had been the main character (or if Gon had another goal), I would have loved finishing it!! I recommend this if you already like shonens and if you just want to watch something fun (the next seasons might not be as lighthearted lol).
