Demon Slayer Season 1 Review
(There will be spoilers so if you don't want any then I advise you come back after:) )

Starting the Show
I first heard of Demon Slayer when it was constantly on featured pages and people on TikTok were talking about it, after finishing My Hero Academia i thought that i would choose this show to be the next one to watch while I eat.
The show started off pretty slowly, at the very beginning the death of Tanjirou's family, Nezuko becoming a demon and the appearance of Tomioka was the first interesting part of the show but after that it was kind of bland, this is when I stopped watching it and didn't think about it. Also a friend of mine (Who watches a few different animes then me) started recently watching and she also said that the beginning was boring so this proved that my opinion was not biased.
A Second Chance
After seeing more and more videos about Demon Slayer and finding the motivation to watch it I decided to start from where I left off, I had to bare with a few of the boring scenes but after getting past them, the show began to pick up and really start to get good. We get to the scene with the rock which Tanjirou has to cut and we meet Sabito and Makomo which he consistently trained with and fought in friendly duels to improve his skill, it frustrated Tanjirou that he could never beat Sabito in a duel, but gradually he improved beating Sabito cutting his mask in two, Tanjiro then finds the rock cut in two also, and that Sabito and Makomo disappear.

Final Selection
When Urokodaki believes that he is ready he calls on Haganezuka to create Tanjirou his first sword, which turns the colour black which can either mean something really good or bad. After receiving his sword Tanjirou sets off to 'Final Selection' where he is tested on his ability, the test consists of applicants surviving the night in bordered area with Wisteria Trees (Which demons do not like) that is filled with captured demons, the soon to become Demon Slayers must survive and kill any demons they see, the only way you can fail is by dying.
Tanjiro stumbles upon an abnormally large demon which he finds out was actually captured by Urokodaki, and that he targets people with the masks that Urokodaki gives to his students. This demon was also the demon that killed Sabito and Makomo the two visions that he saw when he was training, this gives Tanjirou a drive to kill this demon to avenge them.
Tanjirou survives the night with a few others, the new Demon Slayers are assigned birds that will act as messengers for them, and they all part ways.

Adventures
After leaving 'Final Selection' Tanjirou completes a series of missions given to him by his assigned crow, while doing these missions Tanjirou takes the opportunity to try and find out how to turn Nezuko back into a human. Tanjirou meets many people including a friendly demon who is actually a doctor and is working on a way to to turn humans back, he also stumbles upon in the big city Muzan Kubutsuji who is the main antagonist and is the one who created demons and is the leader, he finds him living a normal life and Tanjirou makes a big scene of it causing Kibutsuji to craftily get a way, Kibutsuji sends demons after him and Miss Tamayo (The friendly demon) who attack them along with Nezuko and Tamayos counter-part, the demons believe they are part of the 'Twelve Kizuki' and elite group of demons who have recieved Kibustujis blood which we later find out they aren't. Tanjiro and the other's manage to defeat the two demons and Tamayo asks Tanjirou to collect blood from members of the 'Twelve Kizuki' as it will help her with research for finding a way to turn people back.

Tanjiro goes on lots of missions similar to this where he is often put into danger, he also meets someone who also passed 'Final Selection' called Zenitsu, they are all called to a forest on a mountain which lots of demons have been staying, this is where they meet the first real 'Twelve Kizuki' member called Rui, Rui lives in the forest with his "Family" (Who are actually people just forced to act as his family), the whole scene is rather sad but tense as there was plenty of Demon Slayers there also, but they were dropping like flies and they even had to call two Hashiras (One of the highest ranks in the Demon Slayer Core): Tomioka (Who we have already met) and Shinobu who we are introduced to in this scene we learn that she has a different sword to the other Demon Slayer as she actually uses poison to kill the demons and has a small part of her blade which is actually sharp because that is all that she needs.
The two Hashiras help to defeat the demons and send send Tanjirou and Nezuko to see the other Hashiras and the Corps Leader, this is where they decide what is to happen to Nezuko and also Tanjirou as Demon Slayers aren't typically allowed to travel with a demon and spare them, one of the Hashiras even goes as far as to try and tempt Nezuko with the smell of blood but she doesn't give in and the Hashiras and the Corps Leader decide that Tanjirou can continue to travel with Nezuko and spare them both.
Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke go through a period of rehabilitation in the 'Butterfly Mansion' which they are looked after by a group of girls and are watched by Shinobu and Kanao (Shinobu's apprentice) Kanao and Tanjiro grow a bond over this period of time. After they have recovered they are called upt o board the Mugen Train where Flame Hashira Rengoku is waiting for them.
This is where the story ends for Season 1 and i plan to watch the Mugen Train arc very soon.

Cinematography in Demon Slayer
Personally i think that Demon slayer has some of the best cinematography I have seen in any show, for example the scene of the Spider-Demon Mother's death was extremely cinematic and just beautiful in how Tanjirou mercifully but the mother out of her misery and frees her from her suffering as a demon, the lighting mixed with the slow motion shots really bring sadness and make you feel bad for the demon when you shouldn't. They also use a nice effect on the the different breathing types which work really well in the not just the Spider-Mother scene but many others as well including the flame effect when Tanjirou fights Rui.

Conclusion
Demon slayer is one of the best series' in terms of story and visuals, I recommend to any anime watcher New or Old as it is a fairly easy story to follow and at the moment it is a nice short anime to watch.
So that is why I rate it so highly.
