This might be one of my favorite awakened returnee manwha that I've read recently. There honestly isn't much at all that I can critique about it or point out as a flaw that I can think of off the top of my head. Slight spoilers ahead, but nothing extreme.
I guess I'll talk about the story first off, a dude gets warped away to a murim world (martial arts) and he essentially hax his way to the top of the totem pole in that world. Then boom, suddenly he's returned to his home and current self as nothing had ever happened that day. Since he's been in that world for thousands of years he needs to readjust to society and remember just about everything from his past life that he's forgotten about. Upon his return home, he finds he has an unexpected guest. His brother's teenage daughter!
This plays a significant role in the story and helps get the ball rolling for a bunch of other plot points but not a lot of actual time is spent on that aspect of things in the grand scheme of things. The story spends just the right amount of time on action, plot advancement, and character relations. There are plenty of cute wholesome interactions that are adorable and plenty of funny, entertaining interactions with a healthy dose of action and bad assery slapped into the mix. I enjoyed it thoroughly and read the entire first 52 chapters in one sitting on accident.
On top of it being such a binge-worthy story, I rarely come across a story where pretty much all the characters are likable and fun in their own ways. They aren't writing insanely outstanding in-depth side characters but compared to most other stories the author has clearly tried to breathe some amount of life into them. I really appreciate that effort that others seem to neglect and avoid.
The art for the story is pretty average when it comes to webtoons and manwha I won't lie but it's still very nice to look at and characters still come across as either cute, cool, or scary when needed. It does its job, and that's all that matters to me.
All in all, I really really enjoyed reading this story and I think it's already become something of a favorite of mine when it comes to this particular genre of manwha. It's cute, fun, cool, and manages to be interesting despite such a basic and generic plot.
on a personal enjoyment scale, 10/10 I love it!!
On a realistic, less circle jerky tier scale, I would rate this somewhere between a 7 or an 8/10. Somewhere in between but closer to 8 than the 7 ya know?
I hope this review helps convince people to read this manwha, It's not slept on as far as I can tell and has a dedicated fan base. I just want to point more readers towards it if I can. It certainly deserves it.
