I found it really hard to get emotionally attached to an anime or any other media the only shows I ever got attached to before watching hxh was breaking bad. But the day I started watching hxh it changed my whole life I started the show because I found its whole idea wholesome about a guy trying to walk on his fathers path to find out what being a hunter is and is it worth to leave your family behind for it. I got hooked to it from ep 3 I kept watching and watching and I was attached to the show on zoldyck family arc.
Story:- for me it was a emotional roller coaster it really got me crying on some scenes and bursting out of laughter on some scenes and it was so damn enjoyable I never got bored in a single episode or turn it to 2x or 1.5x. And chimera ant is the best arc I ever watched in anime that arc really changed the show.
Characters:- Every character in this show was incredible and the character I really liked was wing san and netero despite having less screentime they were lovable and enjoyable as well. Hunter x hunter have best antagonists in all of shounen for me every antagonist was well written and really good and matches the arc perfectly and doesnt feel like they belond there. The main character gon is the most enjoyable character in the show for me he was quirky and serious at same time it never felt like you are watching a 12 year old kid fighting. Side characters of this show are also good and I really liked the friendship between gon and killua.
World:- World of hxh is my favourite world in anime it literally had everything in it let it be whale island or yorknew city or even a game called greed island everything was perfectly designed and written and the part where every character fits in to that city or island is really impressive.
Music:- HxH OSTs are hype creators my personal favourite was boys be courageous it was perfect for the hyped scenes and ending of episodes.
Fights:- HxH had one of the best fights in shounen. The fights were perfectly choreographed and well animated (I am also gonna include a point of animations so I wont give you too much info about that here) and the fights were never dragged out.
Animations:- Animations of hxh are good and for the time it was released its safe to say they were one of the best at that time. Small details of the animations are taken in account and the stunning visuals never felt bad to watch and they were perfect for the show. My personal favourite scene was when gon transforms into adult gon it had every single detail in it and the direction of that scene was great.
Well that was my review and the reasons I think hxh is the best anime I ever watched and no anime could ever replace it for me.
I highly recommend watching hxh its worth your time.
