Every episode of this series felt like a new fresh book with a lot characters but still incomplete, This show portrays true love and how much beautiful it is, To be honest this show was a really short but a sweet and loving journey which is etched into a memory in my mind which I'll probably never forget.
Never loved anime that much but this show was one of my first in the slice of life and romance genre.
It was truly a marvelous experience watching this show, although I'm single this show told me how beautiful but at the same time painful love can be. I REALLY loved the fact that every episode throughout the whole series has a new story and now fresh it feels, the animation was at peak level considering the fact that this was one of the best animated series ever.
What truly got me invested was the new concept of the stories of war and how bad it must've truly been at the times when the drafted soldiers got injured and wanted to speak to their loved ones one last time, how hard must've that been it saddens me and the whole story brings me to tears.
The thing that they started a service where a post office provides these writing dolls to the people in need and who don't know how to write or can't write on their own or even just to edit their speech clearly and make it representable and nice so these dolls type it out for their customers the best thing in the whole show was probably the concept of the postwar situation and how the people were still shook after that trying to get their lives together, mourning for their loved ones who haven't returned even yet and the families still looking for them in hope of finding them alive, What made me and the most of audience cry was the show depicts how truly painful it is to be in love and how much people actually sacrifice in the act of love to their loved ones whether it's between a bond of a brother and sister or even a dying wish of a mother to her one and only daughter, this show has it all and has one of the most best pacing I've ever seen in my life, How it goes from a lifeless little teenager to a mature and caring girl, the development of the characters and everything was just perfect and this is what I like to call anime on peak and at times we often take everything for granted but this is i don't know how to explain this anymore.
This was more like a feeling but this show is just soooo good you just have to watch it.
