Story 3/10
One of the problems, I had with Shippuden is the pacing of the plot and countless numbers of flashbacks that are most of the time totally useless and redundant. Adding the 40% filler percentage and you will get bored most of the time. I highly recommend skipping ALL the fillers. I found the plot a bit confusing sometimes, for example, the reasons Itachi did what he did (no spoilers) are completely far-fetched and have many scriptwriting facilities. Therefore the weakest point of Shippuden is without doubt the last arc. The big war arc is really too long, goes in all directions, and doesn't make any sense. The story is really confusing and we feel that the author no longer masters his subject at all.
Animation 5/10
The animation in Shippuden is really average but satisfying. It does the work but doesn't expect it to blow your eyes. The environment is diverse and you will find some magnificent landscapes. Shippuden will make you travel, the different villages are very different and offer a pleasant change of scenery.
Sound 8/10
One of the strong points of Shippuden is without a doubt its OSTs. Openings, endings, and music are all great and special, unlike any other animes. The voices of the different characters are great, and the actors did a really great job.
Characters 6/10
Most of the characters in Naruto are endearing but not all perfectly written. Like Sakura that has no real goals except loving Sasuke which isn't interesting at all. Shippuden has many cool characters such as Naruto or Kisame and you will feel attached to them.
Univers 8/10
The universe in Shippuden is enormous, vast, and rich filled with legends, tales, and mysteries. Diving into the universe of Shippuden will be a great adventure.
Impact 7/10
What I like the most about Shippuden is its impact. This anime is touching, and full of emotion reinforced with beautiful music that will not leave you indifferent. You will plunge into all kinds of emotions watching Shippuden, sadness, joy, anger, relief, excitement, fear, satisfaction...
Conclusion
Naruto Shippuden is decent as it evokes a lot of emotions, and this is why we love it as art. However, the quality of the show remains quite low with several problems. The author seemed to have lost the way, especially with the last arc, which is absolutely terrible. Naruto, the original series with the young Naruto, is much better. But if you're a Naruto fan, you will definitely enjoy Shippuden as well.
