This time I will review one of my favorite anime, the anime that tells about Kanda Sorata's daily life in Sakurasou.Title : Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo
Release Date : October 9, 2012
Episodes : 24
Duration : 23 Minutes per Eps
Genre : Comedy, Drama, Romance, School, Slice of Life
Story Source : Light novel
Studio : J.C.Staff
Kanda Sorata, a 2nd year student at Suimei High School, is transferred to the Sakurasou dormitory because he takes care of every abandoned cat he meets. He felt unfit to live in Sakurasou, because of the strange behavior of the residents. Sorata's friend Nanami proposes to Sorata that he find his cats a new owner, so he can move back to the dormitory at his school. But his desire to move became doubtful, due to the arrival of a 2nd year student and world famous artist, Mashiro Shina.
The story of the Sakurasou anime is very good, the friendship that was initially tenuous became very close. Romance in this anime is not too highlighted even the ending of the anime is very hanging for me, I was expecting season 2 of this anime. A close friendship, really made me touched when I was watching this anime. This anime also has quite a lot of fan service. The story from Sakurasou manages to present Romance - Comedy with the right mix, the romance part is enough to make us touched, but it is always interspersed with hilarious comedy scenes because the behavior of the characters often invites laughter even though it's quite ecchi sometimes (-___-)" For the love story, in particular, the development of the relationship between Sorata and Mashiro as the lead couple itself, in my opinion, is getting backwards and even less "stable" and the romance story that occurs is too little when compared to the development of the relationship between Sorata and Nanami as the "third person", because Mashiro and Sorata's relationship is more seasoned with personal conflicts that Sorata feels, between his feelings of love and admiration for Mashiro, as well as feelings of jealousy with Mashiro's extraordinary talent.Even so, Sakurasou still managed to get into the nominations for the Most Exciting Romance and Best Anime of the Year. Awesome to Watch.
This time I will discuss characters that are close to the main character only. Kanda Sorata, this main character in my opinion is emotionally unstable, likes to take out his anger on Mashiro, but among his other friends he is the one who cares the most about Mashiro. At first, I really wanted to rush to the regular dorm, but after Mashiro came, and he felt the warmth of friendship in Sakurasou that he couldn't meet in the regular dorm, he finally decided to stay at Sakurasou. Shiina Mashiro, my favorite female character. This one character is beautiful - beautiful but so innocent, you can't even wear your own clothes, usually Sorata takes care of it. But it is precisely this innocent character that makes me excited. Aoyama Nanami, he is a stubborn character who asks for mercy, pushes himself too much, many don't like it when Nanami has a relationship with Sorata, including me. Mitaka Jin, Jin is always playing with girls, aka playboy. But he is the character with the most mature attitude among the other characters. He also used to be Sorata's place to talk. Kamiigusa Misaki, this girl is really hyper-active, mischievous, acts like a child. But you could say he is a genius in making anime. And finally Akasaka Ryuunosuke, At first when I first saw Ryuunosuke, I thought he was a girl but it turned out to be a boy. The person is mysterious, very closed from the outside world, even he only appears in the middle of the episode. Most hate girls, if you talk very openly. He usually wants to chat with others through maid-chan, the virtual assistant. good at computers and technology.
The quality of animation and artwork in Sakurasou is quite smooth, detailed and consistent until the end, with world settings to character designs that are sweet, soft, cheerful and colorful. There's a bit of 3D CG used, and the results are pretty smooth.
In terms of music score, Sakurasou uses 2 sets of main OP-ED song combinations, namely "Kimi ga Yume o Tsuretekita" sung by 3 main female voice actors, namely Ai Kayano, Mariko Nakatsu, and Natsumi Takamori as the first OP, combined with "Days of Dash" by Konomi Suzuki as its ED. The second combination is the song "Yume no Tsuzuki" by Konomi Suzuki as OP and "Prime Number -Minna to Dearu Hi-" by Asuka Oukura as ED. Also included are 2 insert songs, namely "I Call Your Name Again" from Mariko Nakatsu as a special OP for the eps. 14, and "Konnichi no Hi wa Sayonara" as an insert song in the eps. end. The music score overall supports Sakurasou's sweet image, but the taste is not too impressive or extraordinary, so it's only natural that it didn't make it into the 20 Best Anime OST Songs to Fill the Days.
