In this review i will talk about my favorite Part from the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Series (Not Spoilerfree so be warned), Part 8 to be exact. I will write it more casual and do it for my own enjoyment, but i also hope you will like this review.
Jojo's has been my favorite Animanga for years now, back when i started Part 1 around the end of 2019 i thought nothing special of it, until i got to the 2 cour of Part 3 where i fell in love with the series, and i know it isnt really known for its consistency especially early on but i still felt something really great from the Anime. Around the 2021 i finished the Anime which had 5 Parts adapted at that point and i started reading Part 6 and later Part 7, it was the time where i still loved Jojo's but kind of lost touch to the series well that was until i read the most recent Part, and now we are exactly at this point in which i write this review.
Jojolion is about breaking a curse and that curse is in my eyes the struggle to find yourself, which is shown through the main character: Josuke Higashikata. Because of his Past he has the problem of not knowing who he exactly is, or even what is purpose in the world is. And Araki used his Amnesia really great for that Problem it hides a mysterious and dark past that slowly gets uncovered through the City of Morioh and all its Residents, and that is also something i love since we use the same location as in Part 4 but yet Araki gives it way more time to develop and show us all of the important parts of the city in which each one of these places contributes to the mystery that is Josuke's Past. And that is the reason why i also love Josuke so much since you get to see him develop so much through that unique situation that he is in, you go through so much with him and in the end you yourself can kind of break your very own curse.
Really what i wanted to write here was about the Antagonistic side of Part 8, since in my eyes this Part has no "Main Villain" which usually is the common theme for Jojo Parts but not really in this case. Part 8 is more a fight over personal ideals and the will too harm others so that you can succeed in the world, and that is perfectly presented through the character of Jobin Higashikata, he only wants the best for his own family even going as far as killing people for the power of the Locacaca, you might call him insane for that but he isnt alone in that, even Josuke acts reckless sometimes to obtain the Locacaca which is in his eyes necessary to uncover the mystery of his past. And now you might ask but what about Tooru? And yes he might be the strongest stand user we have seen so far, but he isnt a "Main Villain" either, he gets introduced very late into the story and he also just wants the obtain the locacaca for himself with the objective to make alot of money, So Tooru is similar to all the other characters. And that i totally love since you dont know which side you would be on yourself it gives you some kind of relation with each character and that is what makes the whole cast of Jojolion so strong, and my favorite in all of Jojos.
Im a huge fan of Araki's Artstyle, and it really starts to shine when you read it in color, his ideas and panels are easy to follow but yet they are something you can get anywhere else, totally unique and that is what i love, some of my favorites:
Finally i want to talk about the Stands of Part 8, because this part some of my all time favorite Stands like Soft&Wet, Wonder of U, Speed King and Doggy Style. It got really creative with the designs and also the abilities, some really unique and fun fights came through these new and fresh ideas, and since Part 7 i enjoy the Stands more then ever before, sure we got less Humanoid stands but i think the new concept of Stands in which they usually give the User less options to use their powers is really great and so Araki challenges himself to write even wilder fights and ideas on how to use these Stands to tell his story, making it even more fun learning about a new Stand or seeing a fight.
