I wish I could give this a higher score, because the animation, art, progression, sound, and story are compelling. The humor is interspersed, catches you off-guard, and is so chaotic and fun. The world is created intentionally and is full of depth, the lore is interesting, and the worldbuilding is done naturally and with excellent pacing. This is the first isekai show I've watched that I wanted to really get into, and I really, really wish I could recommend this show to my friends and my family. I'm beyond disappointed that I can't.

This anime is subject to a fatal flaw: it's insufferable. I'm physically unable to watch parts of it without this ball of discomfort forming in my stomach and pushing up on my throat - and it took me way too long to figure out why.

It isn't the sex in this show that make it unwatchable. It's not even the sexy furry girls or maid girls. I love me some tits and ass. I'm not ashamed. Come at me.

What does make it unwatchable are the themes of rape apology, sexual assault, fetishization of minors, among a myriad of other absolutely disgusting sexual themes just very casually intertwined throughout that dominate much of this show. But, even moreso, and I want to emphasize this, it's the fact that he's being rewarded for this despicable behavior. Yes, I understand pubescent hormones. Yes, I understand loving tits and loving ass. But no, I don't understand what a 40+ year old man (even if he is in a young boy's body) has any business doing sexualizing preteen GIRLS, commenting on their breast sizes, and even ASSAULTING a 10-year old GIRL - and then getting laid after that.

"But he's like ten!" No, he admits that he's a 30+ something in a baby's body right at the beginning of the show. He later admits that he's a 40+ something later in the show when he grows.

In addition, the protagonist (we'll just call him by his isekai nickname, Rudy) is given a traumatic backstory that's supposed to "explain away" and excuse his disgusting behavior. Trauma does not give someone the right to look at a developing girl's body and say, "hmm, I'd tap that", or "hmm, she's asleep so I can do whatever I want to her, right?" That's bonafide fucked up is what that is. Rudy needs therapy.

The fact that the adults of this isekai world are condoning rape and brushing off assault is appalling, but given that I'd compare that to Game of Thrones in that it IS a different world with archaic values and different views, I can forgive some of that. But it's Rudy's disgusting thoughts and behaviors, which then somehow end up benefitting him later on - that's unforgivable. He's from Japan - the world that WE live in. Do better. I know children (being tweens and teens) are watching this show, and not all of them know better. Normalizing these abhorrent sexual themes is terrible in ways that I'm sure any sensible person would understand.

Other than that, Rudy's character is robust, relatable, and he'd be an otherwise wonderful character. He's got lots of other human flaws that already establish him as a character worth praising. Those sexual tendencies of his really ruins not only the show, but also what otherwise would've been a great protagonist.

5/10 for everything else about this show, rounding up from a 4.5/10 for not being able to recommend this in good conscience. I so would've liked to give this an 8 or even a 9, because almost everything about it is excellent. But with everything going on about it, I'm forced to downgrade my score.
