Background:
I watched all of Kaguya-sama without expecting much, to my surprise, i didn't realize how deep the, almost everything of Kaguya-sama goes, and the final season is oooooooooooh boy, it's a thing of beauty.
Easily the first anime that made me laugh in a LONG WHILE! (i feel emotionless most of the time when i watch anime)
Well, I thought it would be the ending point, since the show ended so well, and i think there was no room for a sequel after the third season,
UNTIL I LOOKED AT THE FUCKING MANGA! There are still a fuck ton more lore about Kaguya-sama and important plot points that were not present (yet) in the anime.
And so "the First Kiss that Never Ends" movie is greenlit, and released.
(Why is this not kept as a movie from the getgo is beyond me)
Animation:![]()
Still really good, but not nearly as overly energetic as season 3 in my opinion, since the run time is really short (it's split into 4 episodes in streaming services for some godforsaken reason)
Vibrant in colors, but it's a more slow-burnt approach this time, the comedy isn't the central focus this time.

Characters: Speaking of which, let's dive into them
Starting with the Titular Character, Kaguya, she is much more different this time around as the immediate shift in personalities is what really sells her character here
The first one is "Kaguya-chan", a silly comic relief side of hers that always is happy and silly, and everyone is flabbergasted to see that in the Student Council, although explained in the third season that the kiss affected her really emotionally, we get to REALLY see that in action with this scene of Miyuki literally being "Miyuki-chan" with her
(and i mean JUST LOOK AT HOW CUTE SHE IS!)The second one is a more "tragic" approach, a lot of people call this "Ice Kaguya". Happened when waking, she is basically a Kuudere in this phase, and always acts very cold to Miyuki, even to the point of sucking his finger (for some reason),
It is until he passed out is when the "personality court" has decided the Fate of Kaguya, for her to accept who she truly is to Miyuki.
And it's a really heartwarming character arc for her, and it really shines through the cracks at every moment.

Miyuki is also very good as well, and even if he doesn't get NEARLY as much development as Kaguya, it is still heartwarming to watch their relationship unfold, from both sides, the Kissing gets more excessive but it serves as a great turning point for them.
The Side Characters though, not the core focus, still have charming personalities.
Yuu is fine, and still has a great bond with Tsubame, and Miko still misunderstands everything around her, which is always good
Chika still is the unpredictable madlad that she is.

It's nothing too special and you would probably watch it for the characters anyway
the pacing waxes and waves through a lot, especially at Kaguya's "Alter Egos" (as i would like to call them)
Overall thoughts
A nice addition to the already excellent collection of Kaguya-sama Hits, and i want to see more from this show onwards, especially for Yuu and Miko (i will not discuss the manga here, but i hope those panels get animated sooner or later.)
