First and foremost thank you @Reese for introducing me to Cowboy Bebop (and for making me watch it in dub lol)! I have been wanting to watch this for a while just didn't know exactly when but now that i've watched it, im really glad i did! Funny thing for the longest time I thought Cowboy Bebop was a western kinda show (which it sorta gives that vibes) but I never thought that it took place in space until like last year lol. We get introduced to the gang, Spike, Jet, Faye Valentine (my favorite), Edward and last but not least Ein (yes i didn't forget the dog). Love the characters, all of them have their own stories and past which is shown in the show. The opening is so iconic, I always jammed to it at the beginning of each episode and ofc i didn't skip the ending either. The ending song was really giving me Nana vibes (hahaha....). I also adore the 90s animation and vibes! My thoughts (spoilers): Spoiler, click to viewI was sad when Edward and Ein left but at the same time I wasn't really that sad because Ed has somewhere that they belong as will as Ein (which is wherever Ed goes lol) which I found cute. Not long after that, we have Faye recollecting her memories as well as Julia and Spike reuniting! Julia was literally Spike's reason for living in my opinion so when she died, he felt like he had to die and join her as well. I really love how the show keeps asking us if it's all just a dream and I have seen some theories about it which is pretty cool. But let me tell you guys I did NOT expect Spike to die lol. Neither did I expect Ed and Ein to leave! I thought they would all live happily ever after which makes me wonder how Faye and Jet are holding up. I believe that Faye probably left and Jet is back to bounty hunting by himself. Pretty depressing ending but so beautifully executed!! When it rolled to the credits after Spike died, is when I started taking his death seriously because I watched this show thinking that he was going to live. I agree with Jet and Faye though to forget the past. But Spike felt like it was his purpose to finish what was started and die with no regrets. "You're gonna carry that weight". Thinking about it now, it is very fitting of him.
The ost! Spoiler, click to viewFrom spce jazz to blues, and rock, Cowboy Bebop would NOT be Cowboy Bebop without the ost!! The music ranges from upbeat tracks such as "Tank!" (the very iconic opening!!) and soft tunes like "Rain," setting the atmosphere for this show. This soundtrack stands out as special, first of all, just because of great music but also for how properly it matches the story. There are so many osts that i recognized while watching Cowboy Bebop, specifically "Cats on Mars" which played during episode 9. The immense shock I felt after hearing this ost, "this is from Cowboy Bebop??!". So if you love anime's with a 10/10 soundtrack, Cowboy Bebop is the one!!
In conclusion I love this show and wish I watched it a bit earlier (thanks again, @Reese lol) and I recommend it to anyone reading this! Thanks for reading this long ahh review! See you space cowboy...
