Some time ago, I discovered this anime, but I wasn’t able to watch it back then. Recently, I decided to give it a chance—only to find, regrettably, that it’s a work hurtling toward rock bottom without a second thought.
Though it’s billed as a romance, honestly—where is the romance? Have you noticed the complete lack of genuine interaction between the male and female leads? There are no emotionally charged scenes, no relationship development, no heartfelt dialogue to create any spark. Instead, we get the same tired formula: they visit the usual spots, go through the same contrived situations as if they were strangers. Then—out of nowhere—the series ends with a single kiss, as if that alone magically cements a love story.
Is that really enough to sell us on a romance? Where are the feelings?
Consider the heroine’s behavior: she reconnects with a classmate from middle school and agrees to attend a public event with him—while her boyfriend is literally right behind her, completely unacknowledged. She doesn’t even introduce him as her boyfriend until much later! Then she grows closer to this old friend, agrees to meet him again, and after the event she spends time alone with him, chatting comfortably. Finally, the hero confronts her and tries to express his feelings—and in the story’s eyes, he’s the one at fault!
What makes this truly absurd is the hero’s reaction: instead of speaking naturally, he blurts out hollow, ill-advised lines that only make the heroine angry. Even he wonders why she’s upset—yet the narrative insists he’s the one to blame. It’s the same inane trope recycled across countless other shows.
Next, his response is shallow and senseless. Rather than calmly asking, “Why did you do that?” he delivers a stock monologue ripped from a dozen other animes. Then, predictably, he goes to defend her in front of that old friend—and of course, he ends up getting punched in the most ridiculous way. And yes, it happens exactly as you expect: the same stupid pattern over and over.
As for the supporting cast—Yui Kashii and Shizune Fujinoki—what purpose do they serve? Their presence is so vague and meaningless, one might think they’re there just to fill airtime. Their only remotely useful scene comes in the very last episode!
Finally, the “ecchi” label slapped on this series is completely misleading—there’s virtually no fanservice to speak of, and certainly nothing that ties into the story. Everything feels directionless, as if the writers threw scenes together at random without any real plan or respect for the viewer.
In short, this anime fails on all counts: there’s no believable romance, no compelling characters, and zero narrative coherence. Its clichéd repetition and chaotic plot left me frustrated and bored—like watching a story with no soul.
