DAN DA DAN

I decided to watch this anime because I heard a lot of about it and saw a lot of shorts hyping the anime , So I decided to give it a try . DAN DA DAN made by Science SARU is the first anime I have seen from this studio and they cooked with the anime. I think it is my first anime where I enjoyed a genre like supernatural. The anime is a mixture of opposite genres like comedy and horror and they did a good job in it .

The anime revolves around a boy , Ken Takakura who doesn't have a good social life and is into aliens . Then we are introduced to female lead Momo who is into boys like Ken Takakura who is actor and a singer who happens to share the same name with our male lead. Due to coincidence they meet each other and become friends , I find it funny that the MC and the Momo's celebrity crush have the same name. The anime shows a well blend of the world having both aliens and yokai. It is actually first time for me seeing both aliens and yokai together in a anime or movie.

I like the dynamic between both the characters. Both believed in different things and were skeptical both the existence of aliens/yokai . But they were soon forced to believe that both of those existed. Their personalities were opposite of each other but they worked well together. Momo had a fierce personality whereas Okarun had introspective nature. As the story progress we get to see Okarun develop some feelings her Momo and I think the reverse is also true because of Momo knocking down the tub on Aira head. The story for now revolves around finding Okarun and Momo finding the golden ball.

I personally like the characters designs of the characters and the vibrant colours used for the hair and background. The animation was good and the pop culture references in the anime opening was nice like "Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira.

The anime also gives us few songs like Chiquitita - ABBA and the Japanese business man and a some more songs to enjoy. The end song also slaps.

One of the best episode for me episode 7 where the ending was so touching it showed by the back story acro-silky and sacrifices mother has to make for her child.

The anime also showed some interesting theories about aliens , like why does Hollywood show aliens taking a cow with them because the milk is the aliens blood . I find it interesting like Okarun telling that yokai and the monsters around the world are protecting the earth from alien invasion like that is such a interesting theory.

The anime had good fight scenes and emotional scenes. But I dont like the fan services in this anime and it doesnt make sense that Momo's grandmother looks so young.

TL;DR Overall it is a good anime , if you are fan of aliens or supernatural theme I would recommend this anime to you.
