I had to google how to write a review for this awful show. Genuinely the worst show, including both tv and anime, that I have ever watched. It is such a waste of a great setup, where a team has 30 days to find a cure for a miracle drug that turns out to kill the person taking it before everyone starts dying. The plot doesn't progress beyond ep 1 for the first 10 episodes and then takes a backseat to the bullshit assassin side-plot for the last 4 episodes. It is one thing if you want most of the episodes to be filler, but when there is a strict time limit on the plot it feels like the team is just dicking around and getting nothing done for most of the show. The main conflict of the show gets resolved in the last 10 mins after they
This sucked but I could ignore it if we got any meaningful character development (there wasn't). The only character they tried with was Chris' 2 episode Russian spy backstory. Eleina was in a no-technology cult and magically became a top 3 hacker in the world off-screen. Leland all of a sudden has a rich family revealed towards the end and does nothing useful for most of the show. Doug is a scientist? He didn't get a dedicated episode so I don't really remember or care. Axel is just Spike but without everything that made Spike a compelling character. It is also impressive how every character in the show doesn't have any progression at all. Every character fits an archetype and doesn't grow as a person. It is just completely flat from start to finish. Especially with the terrible voice acting, there is not a single character I cared about at all.
Ironically the show also loses the plot towards the final third. Instead of Skinner being the big bad and major goal, Lazarus decides to make the Government the main focus. A military sect in the US Gov doesn't want their secrets revealed, so they hire an assassin to kill ~~Spike~~Axel to keep things under wraps even though everyone is about to die??? It comes out of left field because the creators of the show wanted ~~Spike~~Axel to have a big fight against a villain despite it coming out of left field. This side-plot comes to a completely underwhelming end when
In conclusion, don't. The plot is ass, the characters are empty husks for a majority of the show, there is no stakes since no one important comes anywhere close to dying, and the ending sucks and doesn't make a lot of sense if you use your brain. This show is complete dogshit and I can't believe I let my friend talk me into watching it.
