I read the manhwa 5 years ago. Calling this show slop is disrespectful to actual slop. This show is very bland. It is made for mostly teenagers who squeal and self-insert as sung jinwoo. All of the characters require SJW to give them handouts and no one side character is capable of thinking for themselves or actually being capable. Everyone goons to Sung jinwoo. It is not an anime you would watch if you respect your time.
Sung jinwoo starts as a weak hunter. He then gets a power up through random luck because he's chosen as the monarch UOGHHHHH SUNG JIN WOO UOGHHHHH. Then he insta becomes a chad and levels up and kills everything in his way. Wow! It's almost like he was a nobody that suddenly became somebody through the power of anime!
Get a load of this guy. He also shows up late to almost every scene when he becomes OP later on, just to give the fight more "tension" or so they say, but everyone and their mother knows that sung jin woo is gonna arrive and solo level all over the place. It's like one punch man but way more boring. You know why? BECAUSE THE SIDE CHARACTERS ARE NPCS. Atleast with one punch man you have characters like genos, tatsumaki, and king. Somewhat non-npcs, you know? This POS anime/manhwa doesn't even try.
There are a ton of better watches/reads out there that stimulate your brain more than this media. This is the king of tell-nothing/turn your brain off anime
In this anime, the main character doesn't undergo any character development at all. And if you mention it to people who are fans of the media, their main response is that he "changes" throughout the story from a weakling into an OP OMG SIGMA main character. There is no emotional change or turmoil at all. Who he is from the start of the anime is who he still is at the end, just with a greater power. There are no stakes, there is no risk of anyone significant to the plot dying because sung jin woo saves all of them. His loved ones don't get hurt at ALL. Any and all threats are voided due to SJW's power having no cooldown and all of the problems are solved by SJW and SJW alone. It's not that his powers are the problem, it's just that the author doesn't know how to write a compelling enough story that allows for OP powers and also allows for turbulent times and trials. He doesn't know how to write the trope "A frog in the well". In this story, when sung jin woo becomes OP, he is forever OP. That is not a nice story. In a story there must be physical and emotional growth. The MC must sacrifice something. In here there is no sacrifice, only growth. What is the destination if not for the journey. This is a dystopian manhwa where only good things happen to the MC because he insists upon himself. In a world where happiness is the only emotion that you are allowed to feel, is that true happiness?
