The premise of the story and the world is very interesting and I do find it very intriguing to see how the time reset works and how it affects the mental and seeing how it would be difficult to explain this to others without telling how he foresees the future. Unfortunately Subaru is not an MC i'm interested to watch with especially with the rom scenes in this. It looks like its leading to an harem but with how he rejects his "second option", I don't want to watch this story from his perspective. So far from what I have read in the arcs of the light novel, I cannot believe this rem vs emilia choice is still ongoing. it makes you think why bother from subaru's perspective when he knew them for the relatively same time period. Maybe he likes emilia more but she doesn't express any romantic feelings towards him while rem expresses it quite frequently yet subaru has the audacity to ask her for help with being with emilia. Now I admit that you don't need reason to love someone and anyone who experiences love, knows what im talking about but I can't seem to understand how Subaru has the gall to talk to someone who confessed to him like that, its hurtful to say the least.

Subaru is very one dimensional and all attempts to make him more developed in S1 fall flat when it doesnt show reasonable growth with the attempts he had. I hate to watch this mc make the dumbest decisions and yet see it as an justification of a lonely 18yr teen. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE HOW THIS MC COULD BE THIS ARROGANT AND IRRATIONAL. My blood boils at the way he treats others and maybe he is meant to but it's so other worldly that I can't justify what he is doing or deciding on a rational perspective. I can't understand his emotions and feelings, it's the most forced "im young and im stupid" behavior i have ever seen. Pathetic and loser aren't words that are enough to describe subaru. I get that he is immature but with how he handles himself and the thought processes of his ideas just makes him unbearable to sympathize or reason with. With the amount of times he has 'respawned', there is no reason to think otherwise that he might not respawn next time but yet I see this as an common excuse for people defending subaru for not using his powers as he could. There is no reason to think he wouldn't as he consistently comes back to life other than the reason of maybe the attempt of telling others might stop his powers from working BUT we haven't seen that and while death is scary the way he treats it doesn't make sense to me nor does it make sense for him from a perspective standpoint. The fear of using his powers feels forced, and is rather inconsistent with how he uses it. then again his arrogant nature explains that but being arrogant and stupid for the reason of being stupid and immature is a poor writing choice. I have no sympathy for this mc and I hate how people tell me I should when there is NO redeemable features about him and frankly with REM, I honestly don't understand why that one moment is enough to discard his consistent and ragebaity flaws.

My entire day is ruined when I get reminded of this anime and I wish I was exaggerating.
