Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is a beautiful and perfect movie. It captures the heart of the Reze arc perfectly while also adding to it through the music and voice acting. While Makima's and Denji's love is fake, Reze and Denji's love was genuine. Makima only loved Chainsaw Man, whereas Reze liked Denji. And Reze's want for them to escape came from her inner desire to escape the place where she was experimented on. She saw herself in Denji, so she wanted him to go to school, even though she herself didn't go to one. So when he rejected her offer, she felt disappointed in him, as she felt he was willingly staying in prison. In the end, she wanted to be with him but was killed by Makima. Denji felt as if she had abandoned him, so he went back to blindly loving Makima, even though he had nearly escaped her through Reze. Chainsa Man is a tragic tale of love, family, and desire. And this movie captures that perfectly. In the end, Chainsaw Man is a story of found family and love. Denji finds the family he always desired in power and Aki. Makima used this to manipulate him into doing what she wanted. She awards him with false love. A love that isn't true, but could be. Denji was easily manipulated by her into believing that fake love was genuine. He felt isolated, and she manipulated him into believing she accepted him. like in the movie scene, where, because Denji isn't feeling as emotional as the other watchers, he feels isolated. So, he looks to her for acceptance, and she cleverly acts as if she were feeling the same as him, giving him a false sense of security. For this reason, and because she has a hot body, he feels like he is in love with her. But this wasn't genuine love; it was only love at a surface level. And through Reze, he slowly started to understand that, as his and her love was genuine. They truly loved each other, as they could be themselves with each other. Their sense of security wasn't fake like Makima's. Makima only wanted Chainsaw Man. She idolized only Chainsaw Man. She couldn't care less about Denji, whereas Reze saw Denji for who he was, not what made him special. In a frank way, she loved his human heart, not his chainsaw heart. And this was exactly what Denji needed. The main philosophical debate in this movie is the country mouse or city mouse fable. The Country Mouse or the City Mouse is a fable by a man named Aesop. In this fable, there are two mice. One lives a peaceful life in the country, but it doesn't have much good food. whereas the other lives in the city, with good food but no safety. Reze chooses the country mouse, due to her inner desire to live a peaceful life, as a fault for being experimented on for so many years. Denji chooses the city mouse from his deep desire to live a fulfilling life. By the end of the movie, Denji ends up choosing the country mouse due to his newfound desire to live peacefully with Reze. When Reze doesn't show up(as she was killed by Makima), he reverts back to the city mouse, once again wanting a fulfilled life. This is the tragedy of this movie. Overall, this movie is a tragedy of love, genuineness, and desire. The greatest movie I've ever watched.
