My review on: Cosmic princess Kaguya!
(Everything is my PERSONAL opinion!!)
(Some grammar mistakes and i'm not a good writer and i only wrote this for fun so dont expect anything Shakespeare material!)
__________

Intro;
I love this yuri!!! some haters say its not yuri, however iroha literally admitted, quote ON quote:
Expectations VS reality;
I went into Cosmic Princess Kaguya! on Netflix expecting a cute sci-fi slice of life, and I came out emotionally stunned. I love this concept!!!
The art style is so colorful and soft, every frame feels cozy and magical at the same time. Its really well drawn, and personally i'm very into these kind of cute colorful artstyles, When i saw some clips of this movie on Tiktok, i instantly wanted to go home and binge it! Seriously, this is my exact type of anime. I really wanted to watch something that was cozy but yet interesting! just not something that would bore me to death before i could finish. However, this movie totally is never boring, it's so fun.
If you're like me and quickly get bored of movies/series before you can finish them, i seriously recommend you this movie!
And of course.. the yuri. I definitely did watch this movie for the yuri. And i've seen multiple opinions about it, some say it's not considered a "GL" anime, but i personally feel like there's really a girls-love atmosphere in such a strong contrast too, however this is not a romance type of anime, and not very focused on the romance between Kaguya and Iroha. But their bond is so much more than romance, thats the thing!! It's seriously touching, very beautifully written.

Story (not including the plot) ;
At first the plot is confusing. You’re dropped into Kaguya’s quiet life at school, the way the story builds like the original Japanese tale of princess kaguya, is so creative. Iroha is just living her casual life as she walks home one day, and finds a baby inside of a .. street light pole!! It's odd, right? Of course, she doesn't like the idea of having to raise a baby in such a busy and important period of her life. She takes the baby home as she has no other choice than to try and raise it, but it's no problem.. becuase it literally takes the child like 3 days to grow up! and when the girl tells Iroha that her home is the moon, that's when iroha compares her to princess Kaguya, because the story is the same, right? a child that grows up in just a few days and also comes from the moon! That's of course why, she names the girl Kaguya, just like the tale. I abseloutley love how the writers did this. Because, THIS Kaguya is messy, loud, problematic and the total opposite og the original Kaguya from the old japanese tale. I really liked this contrast personally, hehe.
The story becomes about identity, love, and choosing where you belong. The emotional weight of Kaguya possibly leaving Earth, especially because of Iroha, is heartbreaking but beautiful. The characters, visuals, and concept are everything. Please just watch it.....
Plot
(spoiler alert)
...But they refuse to accept this ending.
((AND THATS THE BEST PART!!! the whole concept of the repeated words "happy ending". Holy moly, i was ready to cry myself to sleep as i thought the movie was over, this is seriously such a entertaining twist.))ꉂ(˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵)
As the movie then continues, determined to return, Kaguya attempts to cross the boundary between her world and Iroha’s once more. During this attempt, something goes catastrophically wrong. Instead of reaching Iroha, Kaguya is thrown thousands of years into the past,far beyond any point where she can simply return. Stranded in a distant era, she is cut off from everything she knows. She cannot live normally, nor can she reunite with Iroha through conventional means.
This is where the story’s structure begins to reveal its complexity. Unable to exist as she once did, Kaguya endures across time in a different form. Through advanced technology tied to her origins, she maintains a form of consciousness, waiting as human civilization gradually evolves. Over thousands of years, she watches the world develop, inching closer to a point where technology might allow her to reconnect with Iroha. (Everything, just for the girl she loves(╥﹏╥) )
Eventually, humanity creates systems capable of hosting advanced digital consciousness. This leads to the birth of Tsukuyomi. Seizing this opportunity, Kaguya transfers herself into the system, becoming an entity within the digital world. Over time, she evolves, stabilizes, and transforms into Yachiyo, the very AI idol who presides over Tsukuyomi. (Tsukuyomi is the virtual world that has a big impact this movie)
This revelation redefines everything. Yachiyo is not a separate character, but Kaguya herself, aged by thousands of years and shaped by isolation and necessity. The emotional, impulsive girl becomes a composed, almost omniscient figure. The difference in personality reflects the passage of time and the burden of her experience. Yet at the core, they are the same consciousness.
The story forms a closed time loop. Kaguya meets Iroha, is separated, travels to the past, becomes Yachiyo, and ultimately creates or oversees the world in which Iroha and Kaguya’s story unfolds. This means that Yachiyo already knows the events of Kaguya’s life with Iroha, because she has lived them. The beginning and the end are connected in a way that eliminates any true starting point. Everything that happens is both cause and effect.
I tried my best to explain the plot, because honestly it is kind of confusing!! as i watched this movie, i wasn't really catching up on what the heck was going on, lol. After doing my research i was able to understand more clearly. It's a very creative and interesting twist. My jaw dropped at this plot, it's seriously good. ദ്ദി(ᵔᗜᵔ) !!
Thats all for my review, thank you for reading
