If you never watched this anime before and is looking into getting into it, prepare yourself. Its older than you think and its gonna have a lot of anime tropes that were made for a younger intended audience. If you just kinda want to turn your brian of and watch a few episodes, go for it.
-The charaters have substance, well most of them (talking about you sakura-chan)
-Plot varies, to be honest all the plots feel like a build up for the second installment.
-Fight scenes are really, really, really good. Some of the best in anime history.
-Can be very cheesy at times, even for the shonen genre. Naruto has a few catch lines and phrases you wont forget, but looking back as an adult you will giggle at the idea of those varying Naruto catch lines.
-The comedy is no laughing matter. Its... well... its naruto comedy. i dont know how to explain it. its not good, i mean we all know its not good. But its still enjoyable? Like you will laugh. Its really fruity and corny jokes, nothing you haven't seen in anime before but still worth the mention.
-a lot of filler episodes and i mean A LOT.
-a lot of episodes in general. It is a time commitment.
Listen, im not gonna sit here and tell you its one of the best shows ever and say it was the stepping stones for what anime is today and if you dont watch it something is wrong with you. (as much as so many wants to believe) Its a fairly good anime. Just a bit outdated. If you are grown and are use to large interesting titles that have complex thoughts and plots that expand to bigger and deeper emotional inquiries, it is not an anime for you. This is a anime you watch with your younger brother or sister. I would highly recommend this to a middle schooler or someone with a heart of gold and a lot of time on their hands. Its REALLY sucks too because i feel like the second installment of the series "Naruto: Shippuden" is one of the best shonen animes ever created, but unfortunately you have to get through at least the canon and mainstream episodes before you can watch that. In 2017, there were a lot of bandwagons towards this anime amongst the youth, and I was surprised. With that said, its still "watchable." I know i make it sound way worse than it is, but its worth the watch. In the end, disliking this anime is strange and a lot of people (including me) will feel weird about someone saying they watched a 300 episode anime to come to the conclusion that it was bad. I recommend this anime like i recommend people to buy a honda accord. Reliable, but fun!
