“Life isn’t about doing everything right. It’s about doing what you wanna do, being who you wanna be.”
SYNOPSIS ;
5 boys and girls full-shuffled! 5-way love pentagon comedy! At clubhouse room 401, there gathers "anything goes" members of the culture study society. Pro-wrestling otaku Taichi Yaegashi, mysterious beauty Iori Nagase, cool Himeko Inaba, the clown Yoshifumi Aoki and fancy-loving Yui Kiriyama found the noisy but calm days suddenly come to a halt. The personality switched among the members--. The unnatural days of changing into "someone" by getting back to "themselves" by becoming "someone else" has started!
STORY/PLOT: 8.5/10
The story is interesting indeed. The story is divided into various arcs and the anime adapted 4 of them. Every arc has a different new phenomenon that the group experiences. And these made the story and emotional train ride more impactful and interesting. At first, it seems like everything is fun but of course, these phenomena are not just fun they have their effects on every member of the group some bad some good and not everyone is happy with every part of them revealed. This all contributes greatly to developing the characters and that is one of the best things Kokoro Connect does.
CHARACTERS: 8/10
Great Cast. Each character, especially Iori Nagase, has a surprising level of depth, story, and relatability to them. Their development is amazing. Every phenomenon brings development in every character and great development for the one focused characters. And it's always hard to see them so suffering yet, in the end, satisfying to see them go through every phenomenon and overcoming their troubles the thing I liked the most was they showed that their troubles conflicts and everything is not so simple to just end easily not everything is like that a little is still left and they develop and overcome their problems little by little. The least developed character was Aoki he developed but not to the extent as much as others did but I think that's the problem with how much the anime adapted from the LN. They only adapted 4 vols so there is still a lot left which makes me wanna read the LN which I definitely will. Taichi is also one of the characters I think will develop more in the future. We saw great of him in anime and he helped everyone a great time but I want to see some focused development in him. He developed others but his problems and conflicts have not completely been addressed.
Fav chars in order-
ANIMATION: 7/10
Good. It's simple but pretty and nice! It expresses the characters’ emotions very well. It’s pretty soothing to watch. The OPs and EDs have great visuals.
SOUND/OST: 8/10
OST is very awesome, they play at the very right moments and add greatly to the scenes. Nice OPs there are 2 OPs and diff 4 EDs and they all are amazing! Voice acting is very good as well!
ENJOYMENT: 9/10
Enjoyed it crazy well! It was a very good experience watching the characters develop, solving, and overcoming their problems and conflicts. It exceeded my expectations of being just a fun show, it showed it’s not just fun but has a great depth to the story and characters and great development. The comedic scenes are really great as well. The character dynamics are very enjoyable and of course, characters make up the best part of the show!
OVERALL: 8.5/10
I have to say, Kokoro Connect is a must watch and I recommend it to everyone. It was fully entertaining throughout. Join the characters as they go through every phenomenon tackling their problems and developing in the process.
