João Ângelo was a Brazilian actor, voice actor and dubbing director.
In dubbing, he started in 1961, at Ibrasom, having as his teacher, the director and voice actor, José Soares.
He joined the AIC around 1962, led by Emerson Camargo. On the occasion, he participates in series and drawings, such as The Witch (3rd, 4th and 6th Seasons), Lancer (1st Season), Daniel Boone, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (3rd Season), Lost in Space (3rd Season), Jeannie is A Genius (Season 2, 3, and 4), and Woodpecker.
His most active period in the studio is from 1962-1976. In the 1970s, he also joined Álamo, Odil Fono Brasil and BKS.
In 1975, along with other colleagues, João created a cooperative called Com-Arte, which provided services to dubbing studios. The cooperative's main role was to work for Estúdio Silvio Santos.
The first TVS dubbing unit, known as NDD-TVS, implemented by one of the station's directors, Salathiel Lage, was in a space in Anhanguera, where Baú a Felicidade and Lojas Tamacavy operated, all owned by Silvio Santos. Later, this space would host the SBT. Later, the nucleus was transferred to Vila Guilherme, where the TVS studios used to be. The cooperative existed until 1980, when TVS created two fixed studios on the site, Elenco and Maga.
He remained active until mid-2019, when he retired. He died on July 13, 2021.
