VINLAND SAGA
Thorfinn grows up in tenth-century Iceland as the son of Thors, the most feared Viking warrior of his generation. The mercenary Askeladd kills Thors in front of him, and Thorfinn does the only thing a Viking child knows to do with grief: he stays on. He joins Askeladd's band, fights in its raids, and demands the duel that will eventually settle his debt — every few months for the rest of his childhood. The story follows him as a weapon shaped by the man he plans to kill, through the campaign for the English crown and what comes after vengeance no longer answers anything.
