Beatrice continues to refuse to leave the Roswaal estate. Rem, the maid Subaru loved and saved in the Mansion arc, has been retroactively erased from the world by the Whale's death fog, and nobody besides Subaru remembers she ever existed. The first cour pulls him into the Sanctuary — a hidden Witch-cult sanctuary inside Roswaal's estate — and the family that has been raised inside it across four hundred years.

A better continuation to a flawed show. More shock and world development, but lacking driving factors in the plot.

Loved season 1 and I'm not sure if I missed it in that one, but it became a generic waifu/harem anime in season 2.
