Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou.
Yoshida walks home after his crush of five years finally turns him down and finds a high-school runaway named Sayu sitting on a guardrail. She is willing to sleep with him in exchange for a place to stay. Yoshida — drunk, twenty-six, exhausted — turns down the offer, takes her home, makes her dinner, and lets her live on his couch. Higehiro is the year that follows: the small daily rituals two strangers form across the kitchen, the reasons Sayu fled her family in Hokkaido, and the moment Yoshida decides he cannot keep being her shelter without also helping her go home.
