Suzume no Tojimari
Suzume Iwato is a sixteen-year-old living with her aunt in a quiet Kyushu town when she crosses paths with a college-age stranger looking for a door. They find one in the ruins of a flooded resort, and Suzume opens it. A worm-shaped disaster pours out and an earthquake follows, and Suzume realizes she has spent her life unable to remember a similar door, similar earthquake, in another year. The film follows her and the boy — now stuck in the shape of a wooden three-legged stool — chasing a route across Japan to close every door that is opening, and the trauma at the end of the road.
