Magi: The labyrinth of magic
Aladdin spent his early life in a single locked room with a flute that contains an enormous djinn named Ugo. The day he walks out into the wider world is the start of the series, which finds him a small mage tagging along with the cheerful would-be thief Ali Baba and, later, the trader-king Sinbad. Aladdin is a Magi — one of three living mages whose role is to choose the kings the world needs — and his decisions about whom to back are about to redraw the map of an Arabian-inflected fantasy continent currently mid-stride between empire-building and slavery.
