Rakuro Hizutome plays unfinished, unbalanced, broken games for fun — he is, in his own internet niche, the most-respected speedrunner of titles their own developers gave up on. Shangri-La Frontier is the rare exception: a VR MMO that the industry has decided is the closest a virtual world has ever come to feeling like one. Rakuro logs in, picks the unfashionable Animal-Bound build, and discovers within his first week that the seven Colosseum bosses the world is currently chasing are only the introductory framework on top of a much stranger, much more interesting underground economy.
