Niwatori Fighter
Giant monsters have been arriving on Earth from elsewhere for several decades, and humanity's official response has been a poorly funded military programme that has lost ground each year. The protagonist Keiji is a forty-centimetre-tall rooster with a fighting spirit several scales above his weight class. He patrols an unnamed Japanese suburb, picks fights with ten-storey kaiju, and wins them through a combination of footwork, beak placement, and the willingness to crow at a creature in the middle of a screaming attack. The series is exactly what the title suggests and, against all probability, sincere.
