Iruma and the thirteen students of the Misfit Class are working through the steepest of the Royal One ranking exams — the Music Festival, in which every demon clan's strongest students compete on stage as performers rather than fighters. Iruma's class is, on paper, the worst-suited group in the school for a music-based competition. Behind the scenes, the Thirteen Crowns continue their long-running interference in the Misfit run, Asmodeus and Clara enroll new partners for the festival pieces, and Iruma keeps quietly accumulating the human qualities the demon world has been failing to convert him out of.
