Gake no Ue no Ponyo
A goldfish escapes the magical undersea workshop of a former human who has remade himself as a sorcerer and washes up on the shore of a small Japanese coastal village. A five-year-old boy named Sosuke finds her and names her Ponyo. Tasting his blood gives her the ability to shape-shift into a small human girl, and her growing affection for him kicks Sosuke's town into a magical-realist tidal disaster. Ponyo's mother — an enormous sea goddess — and her father converge on the harbour to decide what kind of creature their daughter is going to be, and whether Sosuke is going to choose her unconditionally.
