Soul Eater

Death runs a school. The Death Weapon Meister Academy in Death City pairs human weapon meisters with humans who can transform into weapons themselves, training them as the underworld's first responders. Three meister-weapon pairs anchor the series: the bookish Maka and her partner Soul, the loud Black Star and his quiet weapon Tsubaki, and Death's own son Kid, with the twin pistol sisters Liz and Patty. The full curriculum is the collection of ninety-nine evil souls plus one witch's, which qualifies a weapon partner as a Death Scythe. The witches do not always come quietly.
