Waifora — Community Guidelines & How to Post
Welcome to the Waifora community! These guidelines keep discussions, reviews, and activity feeds across every anime, manga, character, staff, and studio worth coming back to.
The rules below are at the discretion of Waifora's mods and admins. Anything that breaks them may be removed, locked, or in repeated cases lead to an account restriction. We may update this thread without prior announcement, but big changes will be posted to the community first.
For most questions, the answer is in the rule below the section that fits your situation. If something isn't covered, contact a moderator via the contact link in the footer or message a staff member directly.
Site-wide Guidelines
1. Copyrighted content
Linking to or sharing illegal copies of anime, manga, light novels, or any related work is not allowed. This includes streaming sites with unlicensed releases, torrents, direct downloads, scanlation aggregators, and forks of pirated apps.
If you want to discuss where to legally watch or read something, link to an official streamer (Crunchyroll, Hidive, Netflix, K-Manga, etc.) or a licensed retailer.
2. Mature content
Waifora is not an adult site. We use a two-tier system:
- Ecchi — pantsu, lingerie, suggestive poses, sideboob, mostly-clothed undressing. Allowed only inside spoiler tags, with the tag itself labeled (e.g.
~!Ecchi: ...!~). - NSFW / explicit — depictions of sexual acts, exposed genitalia, exposed female nipples, bare buttocks, real graphic violence, or any sexual depiction involving characters that look underage regardless of stated age. Outright disallowed.
If you're unsure whether an image qualifies, err on the side of not posting it.
3. Behaviour
Critique freely, attack people never. Anything below is grounds for an immediate restriction:
- Harassment, dogpiling, repeat insults.
- Slurs or content prejudiced against any group based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or origin.
- Telling someone they should kill themselves or die.
- Doxxing — sharing names, addresses, phone numbers, employer info, photos, or any private/identifying detail of another user.
- Block-evading. If someone has blocked you, do not contact them through alts or proxies.
- Impersonation. Don't pretend to be someone else — staff, another user, a creator, or an existing brand.
- Offensive usernames, avatars, banners, or bios.
- Graphic or sexual conversation in public spaces (forum threads, public statuses, public messages). Keep it in private DMs, and never with images that wouldn't pass the public rules.
4. Spoilers
Spoilers must always be tagged. The syntax is ~!your spoiler text!~ — it renders as a click-to-reveal block.
When posting a spoiler:
- Say what work and what scope it covers right outside the tag, e.g. [Manga ch. 80+] or [End of season 2].
- For threads about a specific episode or chapter, also fill in the Spoiler Episode field on the composer — every reader gets a warning before tapping in.
- If you're commenting on a watched/read activity, expectation is that spoilers up to that point are fair game; mark anything beyond.
5. Spam
The following will be removed:
- Copypastas, padded posts, repeated near-identical posts across threads.
- Multi-account posting from the same person.
- Pinging an excessive number of users.
- Reposting your own activity to skew the feed.
- Accounts created solely to post (replies, threads, statuses) without staff permission.
Edit existing posts instead of replying-to-yourself when you want to add something.
6. Advertising & self-promotion
Occasional status posts about your blog, video, channel, or social profile are fine. The line:
- Reviews and forum threads are higher-platform surfaces and are not for self-promotion. Don't drop your link in someone else's review thread.
- External traffic-generation (drive-by "follow my X" posts, link shorteners, redirects) is removed on sight.
- Link shorteners (bit.ly, t.co, etc.) are not allowed. Use markdown link syntax instead —
[label](https://example.com/full-url). - If you've made something Waifora-related (extension, art, video about an entry), we love it; post it as a regular thread with context.
7. Fanart & images
If you share fanart anywhere on the site (status, thread, profile bio, review), include the source — link to the artist's original post. Reverse image search via SauceNAO usually finds it. If the source is genuinely lost, say so when posting.
Avatars and banners are exempt from the source-required rule, but we still discourage uncredited fanart in those slots.
AI-generated imagery is not permitted on the site. Commentary about AI imagery (e.g. discussing a controversy) may be allowed at moderator discretion.
8. Site abuse
Don't abuse Waifora's APIs, scripts, or features. User scripts and extensions that customise the site for yourself are fine, with a few hard rules:
- Don't run heavy automated requests against our API.
- Don't scrape data we haven't published as a public dataset.
- Don't ship XSS, auth-stealing, or PII-leaking scripts to other users via shared profile styling.
- Don't strip warnings or rule links from the site through styling.
Ban evasion via alternative accounts, proxy users, or re-registering will result in a longer restriction than the original.
Forum Guidelines
Language
For now, all new top-level threads should be in English. We may add general-discussion threads in other languages over time — those will be linked from the homepage when they exist.
Titles
- Don't ALL-CAPS your titles.
- The title should describe what the thread is about. A reader scanning the list should know what they're getting before clicking.
- Don't put spoilers in the title — the reader hasn't opted in yet.
Thread quality
Threads should have a clear purpose for existing and aim to start a meaningful discussion. The following don't usually clear that bar (post them as activity statuses instead):
- "Where can I find/watch/read X?" → use the Streaming tab on the entry, or ask a search engine.
- Hyper-specific recommendation requests already covered by the on-entry recommendation row.
- Arbitrary "this or that" / "rate the show above" / one-sided rant threads.
- Survey/questionnaire threads.
Duplicates
Search before starting a thread. If a thread on the same topic exists, post in it instead of creating another one.
Don't necro inactive threads with low-effort replies. Picking up a years-old discussion is fine if you're actually adding something.
Forum spoilers
All forum spoilers should be inside spoiler tags except in episode-discussion threads where spoilers up to that episode are expected by definition.
Reviews
When you can review
- The work should be completed at time of review.
- Currently-airing or currently-publishing work is allowed only if it has been releasing for at least two years.
- A dropped or paused work may be reviewed if you've seen/read at least 75% of it.
Partial reviews
Reviews of half-watched seasons, single arcs, or two-episode impressions belong as activity posts or forum threads, not as reviews on the entry.
Length & quality
There's a minimum character count. Don't pad to clear it — write something that actually says what you think.
The review should be about the specific entry. References to other works, prior seasons, or your other reviews are fine, but the focus stays on what's being reviewed.
Do not:
- Comment on fans/detractors of the work, positively or negatively.
- Just summarise the plot.
- Argue about the work's score or popularity.
- Drop external promotional links.
Spoilers in reviews
Either preface the review with a clear spoiler warning OR put spoiler material in ~!...!~ tags. Don't leak the ending in the second paragraph.
Plagiarism
Only post reviews you wrote yourself. Plagiarised reviews are removed and the user may be barred from posting more.
This includes AI-generated or AI-assisted reviews. We're a community of fans writing for other fans — that breaks down if half the reviews aren't actually written by anyone.
Images in reviews
Images are allowed if they support the text. Fanart isn't appropriate inside a review.
Reporting
See something that breaks a rule? Hit the flag icon on the thread or post. Staff reviews the queue daily.
For thread-level issues (a thread that needs locking, a title that needs editing), contact a moderator directly. The contact link in the footer reaches the staff team.
