In the midst of a hopeless war, a young girl named Korou became a fighter pilot to "die". She was assigned to one of the country's elite units, led by Kano, "the man who won't die."



Enemy bombers attack with overwhelming air superiority. Korou, who repeatedly flies into battle without regard to danger, was kept "alive" by her comrades. As she absorbed their skills and developed as a pilot, she was soon lauded as the "Lord of the Skies."
