I must say that Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun was a surprise to me. For me it would be just another season anime, but I saw something far beyond what I expected. I hoped to find a generic romance by the anti-social guy and the popular girl, but it is much more than that, it addresses some very interesting themes that are being developed throughout the anime.

We started with the main character Tomozaki Fumiya, who sees real life as a "junk game" and prefers video games, until the day he meets Hinami Aoi, with whom he played several games, and who said a fan. It is the moment when Hinami begins to help Tomozaki in the "game of life", and stop him from being "Bottom-Tier Character".
During the anime, we see a social structure, where each person represents a certain archetype, despite changing depending on the culture, in general, it is something that happens worldwide. Probably, in your life you realize this, and identified with one of the characters. If not Tomozaki, probably with one of the others.

I really liked how Hinami's tasks help Tomozaki to gradually develop and interact more, and with that gradually making friends and becoming more social. Him helping Mimimi during the election, where they both worked together with the goal of beating Hinami. Showing several qualities of Tomozaki, that if he stayed the way he was, the others would probably not know.
The friendship he developed with Mizusawa, which grew to become a true friendship, and with Nakamura, who despite not having started so well, was the beginning of something.
Kucuchi who also has a fundamental role, since it is she who makes Tomozaki realize that he can be more himself, not just a mask. Changing is important, but it must also be done because you want to, it is not something you should do by erasing who you really are, creating a false version of you.

In general, Tomozaki-kun shows us a little about structures and social hierarchy in a group, and as it is in a natural way the purposeful, everyone is at some level of this hierarchy. At the same time we see it is not so simple and that human relations are much more complex than that. In real life, we all have a mask, most are not the same person when they are with friends and when they are with family, but it is important that your life is not completely reduced to a mask.
The anime that I did not expect much, but has become one of the most interesting of the season (for me), it is not perfect, but it fulfills your proposal very well.
