General introduction in the review:
Review on the anime “Steins; Gate” (no spoiler) If you are interested in starting to watch it then you are in the right place.
Let's start with the review, have a good read!Anime introduction:
“Steins Gate” is the anime adaptation of the homonymous visual novel released 2 years earlier. Steins Gate is in my opinion a great animated adaptation that you can't miss. Visual novel and animate adaptation are pretty much the same, but in the visual novel they waste more time on theories.
Plot:
The plot follows the events of Rintarou Okabe, a boy at the head of a strange laboratory of furious gadgets. Together the boys manage to create a tool capable of sending emails in the past, but they do not know that soon they will enter a vortex of suffering.
The plot of Steins Gate starts very slowly, but this slow start is necessary to create the basis of a complicated and engaging anime like this.
I want to add that even if the departure can appear slow to the expectant it always triggers a bit of curiosity, which makes you go on watching the anime to see how the events will unfold.
Characters:
All the characters are flawless characterized as per their role played in the anime, each of them with an in-depth look at their back-story.
An anime that makes you really appreciate the relationships between the characters by approaching the viewer with an initial playful tone.
As mentioned before, one thing to be rewarded is the assignment of the roles of the characters: an excellent example is Mayuri Shiina who initially could be annoying but if we think about him and the relevance of his role within the story.

Animations:
Even though it was created in 2010 I think the animations are done quite well.
Excellent shots. However, I don’t think this anime will be remembered for that.
Ost:
I must admit that the ost is really beautiful. They managed to get you more and more involved in the story, it makes you enjoy this anime at any time.
The ending and opening are fantastic, really beautiful for both the song and the video.

Plot Unfolding:
Another thing to highlight about Steins Gate is the development of the plot. As I said before, the start is quite slow, but the development is absurd, episode after episode the cloud of mystery that wraps the story becomes more and more intense. The plot is both twisted and at the same time interesting: it sets your brain in motion among all the facts that happen slowly throughout the story. Up to the total climax of the work in episode 14, from then on it becomes a mess where every detail is important and the gruelling manhunt becomes more and more epic; everything is seasoned with excellent ost and philosophical concepts.

Final Comment:
I recommend everyone to watch it as it is a really good anime among the very few that I personally define as a "masterpiece". But returning to talk about the work itself, I advise not to be fooled from the slow start with slice of life nuances, with jokes that rarely make you laugh, so I strongly recommend that you go on that as mentioned several times above. It is an anime where every episode is even better and more complicated than the previous one. It has a lot of twists and epic moments that in my opinion manage to immerse the viewer in the anime.

Final Score:
Thus said, I think this is an absolute masterpiece, almost flawless with characters and a plot that are nothing short of perfect I cannot help to give full marks.
Final Score: 10/10
I want to thank @Travis2703 for adding anecdotes about the steins;gate visual novel.
