I will start off this review by saying, I don't think I have ever been more engaged in a series than A Business Proposal. I read all 102 chapters in under 8 hours, and I even read it while I was getting my teeth checked at the dentist. It was THAT good. I think I had only stopped reading it to do basic things before quickly continuing to read it.
A Business Proposal revolves around Hari Shin who is your typical office worker who needed her job to assist with her families financial problems. Her closest friend, Seojin, finds herself being tied up into another blind date set up by her dad, and begs Hari to go for her in her place. Denying instantly, Seojin offers her money to compensate, to which Hari eventually accepts, under the conditions that her and the blind date won't have to meet again.
Hari's CEO, Taemu Kang, was in a similar situation to Seojin - his grandfather constantly booked him blind dates with girls the CEO would found uninteresting each time. Determined to get his grandfather off his back, he decided to marry the girl he would meet for this blind date. No matter what.
When the time had come, Seojin helped Hari change her makeup style along with a bright bubblegum pink wig to hide her true identity. When Hari went to her blind date, she was known as Young Seojin, the daughter of a company, not Hari Shin. Hari's goal was to make her blind date very disinterested in her so they would never have to meet again. She pretended to be very experienced in "it", saying she would be capable of satisfying both males and females alike. When the CEO formally introduces himself as, well, the CEO, Hari is quick to regret all of her actions, trying her absolute hardest to end the blind date as soon as she can. Howeverrrr, doesn't work at all, in fact the CEO actually becomes quite interested in his blind date and wants to meet her again.
As the protagonist now holds a big secret, all a reader wonders is how the secret is going to be revealed so the story can progress. Personally, I think the reveal and how everything played out was fantastic. It was really entertaining seeing how the CEO was able to figure out that Hari was the secret individual but kept it hidden from her, almost to "play" with her. But what's even better is seeing the CEO eventually fall for Hari herself for who she is!
The series is filled with romantic scenes giving various forms of butterflies to your stomach, whether it be Taemu's jealousy, desire to be by Hari's side, or even the wonderful kisses they share.
There is a lot more to the series: Taemu's grandfather approves of Hari herself, Seojin falling for Taemu's SECRETARY(!!), and even some newly introduced characters causing some love rivalry to form!
The series to me was so good, I can't even describe it into words. It's one of the most addicting and captivating manhwa's I've ever read. Just read it for yourself and you'll understand!
