I started to watch Fairy Tail as a 15 year old teenager and rewatched it when I was older. This anime get a lot of hatred eventhough most of the haters probably didn't even watch it. They say "too much fanservice", I can understand why they say it but the anime is not about fanservice. It is more about real friendship and how to maintain them. When you watch it, you can see how wholesome the characters really are and not based on the short skirts the characters wear.

But let's not focus on the hatress towards this anime and start getting to my review, why Fairy Tail is so cute:

1. Story

Talking about the story, the whole anime is about the guild "Fairy Tail" which is created by the former leader: Mavis Vermillion. We expirience the start of the guild member Lucy Heartfilia which is the main female lead. She is not the only protagonist of the story. The whole guild is getting the focus of the anime and stories around the friendship are told.

Basically the whole anime is about the adventures with the guild Fairy Tail. There are also side- and backstories around the characters. I think you can really feel what the characters are feeling. The loss of a comrade or the joy of winning is taking me in too. It is a bit like you are on the adventure with them, a nice family feeling.

2. Characters

Each character has an individual backstory which is introduced in the anime while the story is being told. That is how the viewer is getting more inside of each character and creates sympathy with them. The guild member symbol is creating a feeling of being part in a big family.

The characters are growing through the story into a strong unity. If any of them gets hurt, the whole guild is angry and feels with them. I have never watched any anime in which such a strong bond is created.

3. Music

The openings and theme songs are very catchy. You recognize them very fast and in every joyfull or sad time the song is being played. When I hear the song, it remembers me of the journey the characters took and I have a feeling of joy or sadness, depends on what opening I'm hearing. Its remarkable.

The art is incredible. It is very detailed and very beautiful. I have nothing to say about it. Just watch it and you will see what I'm talking about:

5. Conclusion

In my opinion, since it is one of my first anime and it made me laugh and cry, I will give it a 9/10. There are some parts which is too revealing but aside from that, I just love the energy this anime gave me and the joy watching it. The art is incredible too! I love how the anime includes some characters which appear in other anime (Like Plue -> from Rave Master, another art by this author).
