I watched the anime "Violet Evergarden" while doing a puzzle. Being angry at me? Ye, I get it. Just needed an anime to watch while puzzeling though. Anyways. I read some other reviews on this anime -which are quite a lot!- and read a lot of positiveness. So let's trash talk about it now! Well, if I needed to trashtalk about it, I wouldn't know how to...
Let's start with my real review now:
The anime "Violet Evergarden" is showing the life of a girl after experiencing the war. She got used as a "weapon" on the battlefield which is why she doesn't show a lot of emotions. Instead of that, Violet decides to work as an “Auto Memories Doll”. Their task is to write letters with the thoughts and feelings of the people who ask them to. For Violet it is a hard to feel what the other person is having because of her long time in the war. In the anime are many flashbacks to Violets past that makes you understand her more.
I personally really loved the setting of how a person is dealing with their memories about the war. As we watched her experiencing to get loved by friends and the good hearted side of humans, we also fall in love with the character Violet Evergarden. Eventhough she lived through the war, she didn't lose her heart and she tries to understand the feelings of the people who want her to write their letter. It is a really heart-warming anime.

The main character Violet Evergarden is experiencing a change of life, which also reflect her character. You can see, that she gets more cheerful and happy through the time. Eventhough she still cannot forget the past, she tries to live on as promised -watch the anime to know what I'm refering to-.

The side characters help Violet to develop more independent and happier. In the past, Violet always gets ordered around and doesn't really know what to do on her own. As a free soul, she gets to see the "outside world" and the beauty in it. The time she gets to know herself better and the people around her, the side characters also start to like her. It is a really nice advancement.
The only sad side is, that we don't see many background story about Violet. I wished, that there were more scenes in the anime. That's why it is nice to see, that there is -or will be??- a movie about her past.

I just have to say, that the anime "Violet Evergarden" has an incredible nice art and soundtrack. The detailness of the wind in the hair or the fact when the eyes of the characters gets teary... It is made by so much love. Also the landscape of the anime is very beautiful. The colors give the anime a bit feeling of hope (very bright and colorful), while the color of the past is more dark.
The soundtrack from "Violet Evergarden" is very sad but still very loveable. It creates the feeling of hope and a change in life. Just as the message in the anime. That is why I think the soundtrack really suits the anime.

You see, eventhough I watched the anime while puzzeling, I get all the details and were really touched by the anime. Maybe I will rewatch it without puzzeling next time xD. "Violet Evergarden" is one of those anime which contains a lot of feelings which really reaches the viewers. The art and story really moves you and let you cheer for Violet's growing in friendship. All in all, I give this anime a 10/10. It really reached my heart and was one of the anime I watched without a stop.
