I really enjoyed this show. It was cute, funny and it was definitely a show that I could watch to relax and take my mind off things. While the story wasn't solid, it had a plot it followed and kept the viewer watching. Mostly for the cute kids.
With that being said, it had a storyline that was unique. In my time I've watched anime, usually one parent dies - or the main character does - but not both. To be fair on my end, I haven't watched many anime except what I pick and choose. I am quite picky, after all. Regardless - the story was there, and they kept to it. They bring up the fact that his parents are no longer with them, and they do a good job of showing just how damaged Ryuuichi is of his parents passing - and while his younger brother Kotaro is a little too young to understand, they do a good job of showing a child as young as him understanding that something is wrong, but not exactly sure what that is.
While I found the comments from Satoru a little odd regarding his daughter - it was a lighthearted show that has comedy sprinkled in the right places to make you have a good laugh. I know the nosebleeds from Yagi is apart of the comedic relief in the anime, but it still confused be a bit. It was a little strange at first, but once you see that there is no ill-intention and it's mostly just comedy behind it, it gets to be something that you brush aside and relax around.
Animation was nice. It wasn't amazing, but I felt it fit the mood of the show. They made everyone cute, likeable and look different in their own ways that make then unique. What I enjoyed the most was the looks of the mothers and fathers compared to the children.
The parents overall were quite unique as well. Odd pairings - if you'd call them that - but realistic as many people are not similar to their partners. It really shows you that it's okay to be different, weird or even a crybaby but still be a parent and in a loving relationship. It is nice to see that two characters can be in a long-distance relationship without someone successfully ruining it, or them breaking it off because they "can't do it". Children do not care about how their parents are or how weird they are - they love them as they are.
All of the characters are great. I don't hate anyone specifically; I liked Saikawa, Chairwoman, and Kousuke the most out of them as they're characters I found were the kindest, funniest or just overall had great moments or lines within the show that had me enjoy them. Again -- all of the babies were very cute so I am not disappointed in the slightest by the cuteness overload that I endured watching this.
