In a way this anime is the very manifestation of the angst of the silent emo kid in the class, ~~who is about to shoot your school~~, who is really introverted and wants to get their feeling angst and misanthropy out. It's this level of maturation, picturizing and refining of fine ideas and intermixing of different style of genres, that makes elfien lied a fucking an unspoken masterpiece.

So with this long fucking intro- I'd like to begin with my review!

1. Character- The character writing in elfien lied is nuanced, tragic and full of depth. It's as engaging as a book and needs help from the viewers part. The Main character lucy is every jealous bitch ever. I can totally relate to this, Lucy is like your jealous psychopathic girlfriend who loves you so much that she can't even stand the sight of your relatives and instantly murders them. Relatable right? Oh and the character writing is full of depth and takes its own liberties when it comes to science and psychology (As I said its this fine refining of ideas). Like Lucy's dissociative personality disorder. That stuff transcends Science. One moment she can turn it a kawai neko and the other a bitchy psychopath. This symbolizes so many things when it comes to women as a whole. Like when your pockets are full she is the neko, when they aren't you know what to expect. And you know the convenient switches in characters (lucy and nyu)? Nah they ain't cheap, they symbolize how life sometimes can decide to fuck you over with you realizing it. Its that randomness. There is so much truth to be found in this anime.

As for what I said earlier. This show is also quite challenging and requires viewer engagement and forces to them to go of their prejudices. Like this show expands your perspective on life itself and makes you empathize with the most terrible of the characters. And one can see the impact as weebs are the most open minded, creative and tolerating people ever. A cat girl who changes into a deranged psychopath? works for WEEBS. ~~It's their ability to simp on anything cute/sexy regardless if its the most retarded shit...~~. I mean its thier open-mindedness and the ability to look at people and life through various angles and perspective, is what makes the show a masterpiece. Some random pleb can't understand the level of depth this show achieves. Other than lucy every other character is great in their own way and while not as deep as lucy, they certainly work wonders for the show and add to the entertainment of this show.
Kohta- Represents the kinder side of humanity and asks you to be more forgiving
Bando- He is the epitome of masculinity. He is the very manifestation of grit and determination, never stopping at anything.

This anime expertly puts forward the plight of the oppressed and it puts forth a rather radical approach to battling the evil of racism and that is the Tarantino way of doing it. ~~What it means is that you Fking slaughter everyone and if violence doesn't work you do more of it and beat those stinky ass Motherfkers~~
While the method itself is quite questionable, this anime definitely does force you to expand you perspective on these topics and may as well make you open a twitter account, so you can start a meaningful and academic discussion online and educate more people.

1. Art/Music- This show also manages to expand upon its suited demographic by having certain marketable aspects to it. Like are you an avril lavigne fan? don't worry the show has an ending song which is like a japanese ripoff of her. It suits the show really and well and manages to create a sense of horror and "dark" comedy the show is dealing with. The art is good.
