Domestic Girlfriend
Looking back at the Domestic Girlfriend. One thing that I still remember to this day and first thought: what a good and enjoyable mess. This anime shows us the dream of Natsuo and him trying to grow up as soon as possible, Hina Tachibana as a young adult who sometimes lacks a lot in taking responsibility for herself and others as a teacher and also Rui Tachibanas' growth as a person. This anime I would say has a lot more takeaways, I guess it only depends on the person. Someone will always notice some other things. Since this whole show was such a mess, please bare with me trying to make sense and some order out of it here :DDDD.
Natsuo Fujii
Natsuo is a young, dreaming teen who wants to write books and make money out of it and also grow up fast because of his interest in Hina Tachibana. It was really interesting to see how Natsuo was trying to get involved as much as he could in Hina Tachibanas' life... he wanted to help her with anything which was bothering her and, mainly, start living together. I feel like that in these 12 episodes Natsuo went through so much thanks to mainly Hina Tachibana. He thought that adults are really complex because of her twisted personality... little did he know that Hina had a lot of stuff on her mind as well.
Hina Tachibana
Hina Tachibana in these 12 eps was mainly shown in a light of being actually really confused. She came from a background where she was bullied in school and someone named Shuu at that time helped her. She developed interest in him and wanted to help him and stay by his side. This didn't work out well for her. And I think that's the reason she was so unsure and confused about what she should do with Natsuo and her slowly building feelings for him. Since it was such a big mess, I cannot clearly say she made only good or bad decisions... one thing for sure... the decision that she made at the end of the anime was clearly needed but also really painful.
Rui Tachibana
Rui Tachibana was someone I think had the most development as a person in these 12 eps. She started as a shy and antisocial girl without many friends. This changes though once she starts living with Natsuo... not only this, but she also learns how to stop lying to herself and accept her own feelings. She, I would say, was one step further than Hina. That would be because of her actually making a decision and taking the responsibility for it. Not that it didn't happen with Hina at the end, but I think Rui was one step ahead in this.
