Evillious Chronicles is my favourite story of all times, and by so, I was obligated to do a review to all of the novels. Starting with, obviously, Daughter of Evil (Aku no Musume). This is the Pride Arc of the story, and it covers four novels which I'm gonna go talking a little bit about them in this review, I will try to avoid spoilers and just talk about general things, but just as a warning, I think these series is more enjoyable when less you know about it, so I first recommend reading it, but if you want a little more incentive, here we go:
This Arc was the first and by so, the worst, but it received an E-Book rerwitting that made it so much great, so if you actually knew about it but only the original version, I can guarantee that the VG Version is so much better. The characters in this series all are so well done, like, not all of them are relevant but they do feel like they are, every character can be your favourite even if its not the most relevant, that's what I'm trying to say, but going just with the mains, I like how they feel so fitting with the theme of the novels. The theme of Evillious Chronicles in general, is "What in the world is Evil?" I think that summarizes it, but what I like the most about this, is the fact of how they use the Gray morality to not just doubt the hero, but to redeem the villains, the villains ARE the protagonist in this story, and by so, you got to meet them, and empathize with them, and when they receive propper punishment... It hurts. The first novel, Clôture of Yellow it just hurts, I gotta say. It's a novel about a prideful princess who rules about a country named Lucifenia, the thing here is that this princess only got 14 years, and doesn't know the value of things, but she got her most loyal servant by her side, one servant that wants to protect her from the revolution that is about to begin in Lucifenia. But there are other 3 novels, what they do with them? They start to build a mistery. Why the things go like that in the first novel? Who make it go that way? And there are so many plot twist that got you surprised. The second novel just goes about two lesbian girls that got wrapped up in the war, and you feel pity for them, because it's not their fault that things goes that way, but in the end... It still hurts. The third novel is probably the worst, is a kind of transition that goes from the end of the first and the begining of the fourth, we see little time-skip, and see how the survivors from the war are doing, things happen and they end about discovering that there were more that it seems going in the revolution, so they go to find answers, what leads to the fourth novel. And the fourth novel is basically that, they go on and find the truth behind it all. So... Yeah, these novels are basically that, the characters, the setting, the story is so good. And if you like it and want more, there is more! The continuation are the novels called Aku no Taizai, and there are some vocaloid song that is what the novels are based that you can try to listen, they make everything so much special, if you want to start in the Evillious Chronicles fandom, I personally suggest that you will go with the Release Order, I belive you can find it in the internet if you look for it :)
