My Experience Watching Josee, the Tiger & The Fish
``
``I first heard about this film on tiktok, it was a simple upload that was plainly a Trailer for the film and to my surprise it was actually being shown in a cinema near me. So i asked a couple friends if they would like to come and we headed off to the cinema when we arrived we got premium seats! As it was a film that wouldn't have as many viewers as a 'Mainstream film'.
Now for the actual film: The film was great the visuals were stunning a bit i particularly enjoyed was where Josee visualized Osaka (The city she lives in) as an ocean where she is free to move which being disabled and unable to walk she cannot do on dry land, the way that her room and the city transformed was amazing and provided an interesting concept if an urban city like Osaka was submerged in water.
The characters were interesting too Tsuneo was your average college student and he loved diving and even had a part time job at a diving business, he was also hoping to study marine biology in mexico and had been accepted and was invited to join them earlier than the average student. Josee does not live as much of a normal life as Tsueno does, Josee lived with her grandmother and spent alot of time at home and barely went out side, she had a passion for painting and art, she also loved the sea like Tsueno but rarely got to visit it due to her being at home alot.

The two characters meet when Josee's wheelchair flies down a steep hill after her grandmother couldn't hold onto her, this sends her flying towards Tsueno who is passing by, she flies out of her chair and into Tsueno's arms. Josee's grandmother comes down the hill worried, Josee calls Tsueno a "perv" and with help from her grandmother gets up. Tsueno walks with them back home which is when Josee's grandmother suggests that he works for her to look after Josee, and since then the two slowly grow a bond.
Tsueno takes Josee to the beach one day to let her see the sea as she doesn't get to see it often despite her grandma not giving them permission, this brings the two closer together and they go on day trips to places more often because she has built trust in Tsueno to be able to go outside.

Later in the film, the grandmother dies this meant that Josee could not afford to keep Tsueno as her "Servant", put Tsueno protests that he will stay even if he is not getting paid.
Josee eventually finds out about Tsuenos plans of moving to Mexico and the two get into an argument on the beach, which leads her to storm off and cross a busy road with Tsueno chasing behind until she gets stuck in a crack and Tsueno runs to help and suddenly gets hit by a car and ends up hospitalized with his legs broken which could possibly end his chances of going to Mexico...
Now i won't explain the rest but i highly recommend you watch this film, from the stunning visuals, the deep connection of the two lovers and the great storyline, it is overall a great film. If you are into romance type animes and have watched films such as: A Silent Voice,Your Name, Weathering With You. Then you should especially watch it, and be prepared to cry...
