Yes this anime is “bad” but it’s also the best anime i’ve ever watched at the same time.
Of course this anime is not something that would be considered “good”. It’s silly, cringe inducing, hard to watch, makes you want to scream until your head explodes. Though it also makes you want to keep watching.
Our main character, our main man, Naoya is one of the worst protagonists in all of anime. First of all he’s not just an asshole, but an idiotic, cringe worthy, unexplainable, narcissistic, and basic ass bitch. But I also love him. Yes, I hate him, but how can I not love him. There isn’t an episode i’ve watched where Naoya hasn’t made me burst out laughing because of his antics, and I love it.
Our girlfriends! We’re first introduced to our original girlfriend Saki, who’s a sweet childhood friend (basic overused trope) to our Naoya. At school Naoya is then confessed to by our 2nd girlfriend, Nagisa. Nagisa being an overly nice girl, explains just how much work she put in for the man of her dreams, who is extremely basic and not all that. Naoya feels distraught (as he shouldn’t) because he loves his current girlfriend Saki, but also can’t (but should) turn down the girl who put in months of effort just to get him to notice her. Eventually Naoya convinces Saki (somehow) to date both her and Nagisa, and then they… move in together?
When introduced to Milika we finally see the route the story is taking. As Naoya, Saki and Nagisa try to keep their relationship a strict secret, Milika (a MeTuber) finds out about their little love triangle, she threatens to let the word out, but when the three use her MeTube channel as blackmail to not allow her to reveal their secret she decides to keep it a secret. And then she decides… she … wants to date Naoya too. How is this basic ass dude getting every woman he runs into? Good question.
The idea is to keep their relationship secret, but while doing so allowing Naoya, to make Saki and Nagisa both happy being his girlfriends. They face adversity, highs and lows, but our hero Naoya always comes in to save the day and prevents his girlfriend(s) from being hurt.
Though i’m sure there are many people who find this anime “problematic” i just think it’s the funniest thing i’ve ever seen. Seeing some dude who is absolutely clueless try to contain the amount of woman he gets is absolutely hilarious and something I could probably watch every single day.
Overall a funny idea, a funny cast of characters, a funny show. But at the same time, it’s the worst show i’ve ever watched and should not have watched it on the big screen.
I give it an 100/100 strictly for the “it’s so bad it’s good” vibe this show gives off. I’m looking forward to the next episode and will probably read the manga after the first season.
This review may have sucked, but not as bad as this amazing show. :)
Thank you !
