We get a lot of RomComs, people like it and it's actually entertaining to watch how a romantic relationships can go wrong or be funny. Ijiranaide Nagatoro san is a RomCom which some people can't accept, but it's actually very refreshing since lately the romcoms repeat themselves. Don't belive me? think of how many anime there are where the MC have to choose between his childhood friend with light hair and that girl with dark hair he likes.
Only guys who want to be dominated like this, and that is disgusting
No, it's just that you aren't smart enough to go past the first episode. That's true that the first episode is very brutal and I did my best to find the meaning in it, because there is no way that the whole show will be about a girl who bullies someone, which, unfortunately, some people this it is. So why it is not, and it's actually a good Romance Comedy story? let me tell you what you might have missed or you may be will miss.
#Nagatoro's reaction can tell that she isn't doing it just for fun
If you actually pay attention to the small details, you will notice that Nagatoro never ever does something without thinking it through (except for episode 1), she will always get blushed, which is weird for someone who is just wanting to mess up with his upper classmate. If she really just wanted to mess with him and thought of him as real garbage, she would use him, and the directors wouldn't show us each time her expressions and how she blushes when she teases him. You can always find that what she is doing has some meaning, at first we don't know what is it but with each episode, it becomes more clear.
#Senpai's character
A total loser virgin, who can't talk with anyone and is always by himself trying to live peacefully, at the end become a chad. That's right, at the end he is total CHAD compared to what he was in the first episode. First, he stops crying because of Nagatoros teasing, which a lot of people miss. Next, he even gives counterattacks, since he learned Nagatoro's weaknesses. I won't tell anymore to try and keep it spoiler free, but if you actually pay attention to him, you will see how far he has come, and just compare the last episode to the first to see it clearly.
#Nagatoros character
I already talked about how her reactions and expressions are important for her character, but there is more I want to say, and to be exact is her "feminine side". I already said that senpai at the end is a Chad, and with his development, we can see the other side of Nagatoro as well. From "girl that teases her senpai and dominates him" we see her as a girl who adores an older boy. I might be wrong on this one, perhaps I searched for a deeper meaning, but what I see in Nagatoro is a female, a girl, who doesn't like to be ruled by, my phrasing is really good so the type she hates are the bad boys, why is that? because this type of guys always gives a shit about their partner and control them. We can see that each time a boy is hitting on her she tries her best to make them get a bad expression on her, because she knows she can't do anything, biologically, the men are stronger then females. She wants an honest relationship, the first time she sees senpai is in the library, seeing his manga which afterward she reads loudly, and the reason I think she was interested in him, it's because of the story, perhaps the story was boring, but the main character which senpai created based on himself, was protective, the kind of partner Nagatoro wants, and thus she found him interesting, but there is a problem, he is a total loser, crying because she teases him. She was surprised, she didn't expected him to be that weak, and that just made her more interested, because next to him she doesn't have to always pretend to be a string controlling woman, though, she already made him bad so that was a bad start, and she had to continue be the one who acts until he gets guts and gets comfortable, but testing is the only thing she knows, and this way a weird relationship start.
#Conclusion
Nagatoro's character is very cute after you understand her. Senpai's character development is amazing and I am proud of him, at the end he gets
