History:
Yuri on Ice is about a boy who loves to ice skating, however at 24 years old he is a disaster. After finishing college and gaining weight, he returns home wondering whether or not he should stop skating. All this changes when the triplets of his friend, who works at the skate park where Yuri skates, record him doing the same exercise as Victor, the skater he admires. This video becomes so viral that Victor decides to take some time off to be Yuri's coach. In turn, a teammate of Victor, who skates in the same team and younger than him, decides to travel to Japan to make him fulfill the promise he made years ago. As only he wants to be a coach of one, Victor proposes to do a competition and whoever wins it will be his student. Finally, Yuri is the winner and from that moment he will do everything possible to reach the top of the competitions.
What i liked:- One of the things I like the most is the progress of each character. Seeing how they set out to achieve a goal and do everything possible to achieve it. Or having to train non-stop, face challenges that take them out of their comfort zone.
- Speaking of competitions. Each character has a reason to give it their all while skating. In my opinion, the fact that they are explaining why they want to win so much and go to the next round and the music chosen to skate this in the background seems like a total success, because it makes us put ourselves in our shoes. of each skater and better understand his joy at victory or his frustration at defeat.
- Another aspect about the competitions is the great variety of songs and music, which make up a very attractive and varied soundtrack, because as I said before, each character chooses the music that best suits him at that moment and with which he feels comfortable, that's why there is so much variety and musical styles that make this soundtrack different from others.
- Another thing that I did like was seeing how the producers developed each movement of the characters at the time of skating, I think they perfectly expressed the style of each one, making them all very beautiful
- It has several scenes, which have neither head nor tail, but which are very funny and at that moment they just break the ice of an uncomfortable situation. For example, the scenes in the thermal baths.
That I did not like:
- The opening music, honestly the first time I heard it I thought, no, I don't like it at all; however chapter by chapter I see why they chose that music and that song, because it goes very well with the images of the opening choreography. However I am going to leave it in the cons because I think something with more strength would have been better for him.
- In my opinion it has lacked some liveliness, to have more emotion in competitions, because it seemed to me, like pim pam, I start, I do the exercise well or I make a mistake but nothing happens and I finish and to something else.
- Intrigue and emotion, these two factors I have not perceived throughout history, for me it has been very linear, with few scenes that make you wonder, what will happen next? How will it continue? It is true that it is not an adventure or action anime, however, I think that any story, whatever the genre it is, should have at least one scene or chapter in which some unforeseen event happens to the protagonist that viewers, in a way, we worry about how he will continue, for example, with an injury or a bad fall that makes you worry.
- The result of the last chapter is quite obvious, I will not say what it is in case there is someone who has not seen it and wants to do it, but it is very obvious.
My opinionYes, I am honest, I was several times on the verge of leaving the anime. What was it that made me stay with him? Who knows ... the point is that I finished it. So, having mentioned the things I liked and didn't like, what is my opinion? Honestly, it seems like an anime with a beautiful story, about skating, the value of efforts and the joy of achieving them, but I think it could have been more profitable, I think that changing some things I would have liked more.
